Dōng, a medium-sized bird of the order Finches in the family Octopus. Its body length is about 20 cm, and its feathers are gorgeous and bright, including crimson, flesh red, milk yellow, tea brown, black, glow green, bright blue, white, yellow and white, and the color of male and female plumage is roughly similar.

Because of its graceful but not charming, refreshing and not kitsch, coupled with elegant manners, just like the forest fairy, it was named fairy eight colored owl
The Octopus is the farthest species of eight-colored thrush to the north, and is the only octopus species that has bred from Northeast Asia (e.g., Japan, the Korean Peninsula) to North China, Central China and Southeast China (including Taiwan), with a migration distance of more than 3,000 kilometers.
The fairy-colored plover is a ground-dwelling bird that flies straight and low, is slower, but is agile, good at jumping, and mostly jumps and walks on the ground. Alert and shy, with little chirping except during the breeding season, it is not easy to observe.
Unlike other birds, they rarely make nests in trees, but instead choose hidden slopes and place their nests directly on the ground. Most of the shrubs around the nest are dense, the summer rain increases, and the surrounding vegetation grows rapidly, which can quickly completely cover up the entire nest and play a good hidden protection role.
Nests with high concealment, good warmth performance, and husband and wife raising children together are necessary conditions for the breeding of the fairy eight-colored plover. If an accident occurs to a parent bird during the breeding process, it is very likely that the chicks that were bred in the same year will not survive.
With a global population of less than 10,000, the fairy-colored thrush is legally protected in all summer breeding grounds. It is a national second-level key protected animal in China, a national endangered species in Japan, and a national first-class protected animal in South Korea.
Many areas have established national parks to protect the fairy eight-colored thrush and its breeding grounds. The IUCN [iUCN] is listed at Vulnerable (VU) level and is listed on the Washington Convention Cites Appendix II List of Protected Animals.
