Dajiang Network / Dajiang News Client News Reporter Wang Qinhong reported: On November 7, the reporter noticed that the exhibition of Chinese boundary paintings from the past and the present opened yesterday at the Nanchang Painting Institute. It is reported that this is the first exhibition in Chinese history to feature the art of boundary painting.

Boundary painting refers to the kind of painting that uses the boundary ruler (a special ruler) to paint to express the pavilions. According to reports, the origin of boundary painting can be traced back to the Qin and Han Dynasties; by the Sui Dynasty, the boundary painting technique had become quite mature and became an independent painting; during the Tang Dynasty, boundary painting had become fashionable and there were many practitioners; in the Song Dynasty, especially when Song Huizong was a royal painting academy, it had been used as an entrance examination and a compulsory course for study, reaching the most brilliant period, and Song Huizong's "Ruihe Tu" and Zhang Zeduan's "Qingming Upper River Map" were all classics of jiehua painting. In the Yuan Dynasty and later, with the rise of literati painting and occupying the mainstream position, as a realistic boundary painting gradually declined, although There were Wang Zhenpeng, Qiu Ying, Yuan Jiang, Yuan Yao's uncle and nephew, etc., but in modern times, it has become a masterpiece.

Just as the term jiehua was about to withdraw from the stage of history, at the end of the 20th century, Huang Qiuyuan, a jiangxi painter who was not well known before his death, was suddenly miraculously discovered, and his exhibition at the National Art Museum of China sensationalized the national art circle, which fascinated the painting world at that time. A very important part of Huang Qiuyuan's painting achievements includes his art of boundary painting. Many art critics at the time also recognized that in the about 300 years since the beginning of the 18th century, there have been only three accomplished painters in the Chinese painting world: Yuan Jiang and Yuan Yao's uncle and nephew in the Qing Dynasty, and The Jiangxi painter Huang Qiuyuan, who died in 1979.

In order to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, explore local cultural resources, and carry forward the artistic achievements of the sages, the cultural authorities of Jiangxi Province launched the Jiangxi Culture and Art Fund, and in 2019, the School of Fine Arts of Jiangxi Normal University successfully applied for the "Chinese Boundary Painting Art Talent Training" project, and invited Mr. Huang Qiuyuan's student, the inheritor of Chinese boundary painting, and the famous painter Mr. You Xinmin as the main teacher, and also hired Xu Jun of the China Academy of Arts, Su Shu, Shang Yinghui, Liu Wenhui and other famous painters to teach to ensure the high-quality completion of this project.

You Xinmin told reporters that the "Chinese Boundary Painting Art Talent Training" project adopts a concentrated class and out-of-town sketching method training, and the trainees later after several months of intense creation, the learning results of this time are presented to everyone in the form of more than 100 works, and this exhibition is the final exhibition of the training project. "The training time was short, but the results were good. This is not only a test by the project manager, but also a tribute to the older generation of sages such as Huang Qiuyuan. ”

The reporter noted that the exhibition works not only have the students' inheritance of tradition, but also the sketches of ancient Chinese architecture, as well as new explorations of the content and form of boundary paintings. The theme is rich and diverse, and it is well received by experts and audiences.

It is reported that this exhibition was first exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts of Jiangxi Normal University in April this year. In September, the second exhibition was held at the Luxi Art Museum, and the Nanchang Painting Institute was the third stop of the exhibition, and the response after the exhibition of the works was strong, and many viewers said that they saw the hope for the future development of Chinese boundary painting from the works in the exhibition.
