關于經典教程

讀者可按自己的節奏閱讀其中的課程。如果讀者是adobe illustrator新手，将從中學到使用該程式所需的基本知識；如果讀者有一定的illustrator使用經驗，将發現本書介紹了很多進階功能，其中包括針對使用最新版本的提示和技巧。
書中每課都提供了完成特定項目的具體步驟，同時給讀者提供了探索和試驗的空間。讀者可按順序從頭到尾地閱讀本書，也可根據興趣和需要選讀其中的課程。每課的末尾都有複習題，對該課介紹的内容做了總結。
必須具備的知識

安裝adobe illustrator

本書使用的字型
本書的課程檔案使用的字型都是adobe illustrator cs5自帶的。有些字型已自動安裝，而其他字型可在安裝dvd中找到。這些字型被安裝到如下位置：
mac os x—[啟動盤]/library/fonts/；
windows—[啟動盤]windowsfonts。

複制課程檔案
本書配套CD光牒包含課程中需要用到的所有檔案。每個課程都有一個單獨的檔案夾，閱讀這些課程時，讀者必須将相應的檔案夾複制到硬碟中。為節省硬碟空間，可以隻複制目前閱讀的課程的檔案夾。
要複制課程檔案
1．将配套CD光牒插入光驅；
2．執行如下操作之一：
将檔案夾lessons複制到硬碟中；
隻将目前課程的檔案夾複制到硬碟中。
恢複預設首選項
首選項檔案控制着adobe illustrator啟動時的面闆和指令設定。使用者退出adobe illustrator時，面闆的位置和某些指令設定将被記錄到多個首選項檔案中。如果要将恢複工具和面闆的預設設定，可删除目前的adobe illustrator cs5首選項檔案。使用者啟動adobe illustrator時，如果adobe illustrator找不到首選項檔案，将重新建立它們。
在每課開頭，讀者都必須恢複illustrator的預設首選項，這将確定工具和面闆的行為與書中描述的相同。閱讀完本書後，讀者可恢複存儲的首選項設定。
儲存目前的illustrator首選項
1．退出adobe illustrator cs5。
2．找到aiprefs（windows）或adobe illustrator prefs（mac os），它們的位置如下：
在windows xp中，檔案aiprefs位于檔案夾“[啟動盤]documents and setting[使用者名]application dataadobeadobe illustrator cs5 settingszh_cn”中；
在windows vista或window 7中，檔案aiprefs位于檔案夾“[啟動盤]users[使用者名]appdataroamingadobeadobe illustrator cs5 settingszh_cn”中；
在mac os中，檔案adobe illustrator prefs位于檔案夾“[啟動盤]/users/[使用者名]/library/preferences/adobe illustrator cs5 settings/ zh_cn”中。
如果無法找到首選項檔案，可使用作業系統的“搜尋”指令搜尋aiprefs（windows）或adobe illustrator prefs（mac os）。
在windows xp中，檔案夾application data預設被隐藏；在windows vista和windows 7中，檔案夾appdata亦如此。要讓這些檔案夾可見，可輕按兩下控制台中的“檔案夾選項”打開“檔案夾選項”對話框，再單擊“檢視”标簽。在“進階設定”窗格中找到“隐藏檔案和檔案夾”，并選中單選按鈕“顯示所有檔案或檔案夾”。
如果找不到這些檔案，則要麼是您還從未啟動過adobe illustrator cs5，要麼是您移動了首選項檔案。首次退出程式時将建立首選項檔案，而以後每次退出程式時都将更新它。
3．複制該檔案并将其存儲到硬碟的另一個檔案夾中。
4．啟動adobe illustrator cs5。
為在每課開頭快速找到并删除adobe illustrator首選項檔案，可為檔案夾illustrator cs5 settings建立一個快捷方式（windows）或别名（mac os）。
删除目前的illustrator首選項
在windows vista或windows 7中，檔案aiprefs位于檔案夾“[啟動盤]users[使用者名]appdataroamingadobeadobe illustrator cs5 settingszh_cn”中；
在windows xp中，檔案夾application data預設被隐藏；在windows vista和windows 7中，檔案夾appdata亦如此。為使這些檔案夾可見，可在控制台中輕按兩下“檔案夾選項”，再單擊“檢視”标簽，然後在“進階設定”部分找到“隐藏檔案和檔案夾”并選中單選按鈕“顯示所有檔案和檔案夾”。
3．删除首選項檔案。
閱讀完本書後恢複儲存的首選項
2．删除目前的首選項檔案，并将儲存的首選項檔案移到檔案夾adobe illustrator cs5 settings中。
可移動原始首選項檔案，而不将其重命名。
