寫一篇文章字數是不是主要的？
絕不是。
我常常看一些古文，發現但凡那些長篇累牍的文章，幾乎沒有多少人去看。辛棄疾的《美芹十論》如此精辟，字數也算是言簡意赅，但是又有多少人讀過呢？反倒不如“床前明月光”那般家喻戶曉。
更何況當下那些字數遠遠超過古人所作的學術論文，估計隻能給研究所學生們看，而很難走入大衆的視野裡。
現代文的特點在于通俗易懂，既然是通俗，就應當讓大衆接受。《道德經》之是以流傳至今，除了其重要的思想價值，還在于它隻有五千餘字。倘若老子當年一口氣寫了五百萬字的哲學著作，估計很難有人去看，看了估計也記不住。
Is the number of words important in writing an article?
By no means.
I often read some ancient articles and find that few people read those long articles. Xin Qiji’s “ten treatises on Mei Qin” is so incisive, but how many people have read it? On the contrary, it is not as well-known as “the moonlight in front of the bed.”
What’s more, the current academic papers whose number of words is far more than ancient. But it only be shown to professor, it’s so difficult to enter the vision of the public’s field.
The characteristic of modern writing is that it is easy to understand. Since it is popular, it should be accepted by the public. “Dao De Jing” has been spread so far is that it has only 5000 words. If Lao zi had written five million words of philosophical works at one time, it would be difficult for anyone to read this book. Of course, it will be very hard to remember.
那麼，一篇文章最重要的是什麼呢？
立意。
有什麼想要表達的，就簡要寫下來，如果專門為了湊字數，而寫大量的注水文，反而是對讀者的不尊重。故而，筆者當自己對于一個立意有很多想法的時候，就完全可以寫上千字，一點也不覺得困難；而當自己的立意很簡單，也就隻能寫個三四百字，甚至寫一首小詩罷了。
而最關鍵的地方在于，你的立意有沒有取得廣大讀者的認同，這才是衡量一個作品生命力的核心所在。
So what’s the most important thing about an article?
Conception.
If you want to express something, just write it down briefly. If you write a lot of notes for the purpose of counting words, it will be disrespectful to the readers. Therefore, when I have a lot of ideas about one conception, I can write thousands of words, and it’s not difficult at all; when my conception is very simple, I can only write three or four hundred words.
The most important thing is whether your idea has been recognized by the majority of readers, which is the core of the vitality of our articles.
