一般來說，使用TOPSIS法時需要先對名額進行正向化處理。

而論文将TODIM法與TOPSIS相結合，在用TODIM法計算全局優勢度時，考慮了将全局優勢度分為成本型名額的全局優勢度和利益型名額的全局優勢度。以此來替代TOPSIS的計算權重決策矩陣的過程，其中包含名額正向化、名額标準化得到新矩陣、計算權重決策矩陣這三個小步驟。
However, the paper combines the TODIM method with TOPSIS.
