解析：
the + 比較級，the + 比較級
這是表示比例的比較狀語從句句型，意思是“越…，就越…”。後面跟的是形容詞或副詞的比較級。通常，前部分為條件從句，後部分為結果主句。

你賣的票越多，得到的錢就越多。
The smaller the computer is, the faster it can work.
計算機越小，工作就越快。
The more he thought, the angrier he grew.
他想得越多，就越生氣。
注意：
（1）當比較級作表語而又不處于句首時, 可以不用the 相關聯。
When we are more at danger, we should be more courageous.
當我們面臨更大的危險時，我們應該更加勇敢。
（2）the + 比較級，the + 比較級的比例從句句型中，如果謂語動詞是連系動詞be，可以省略。
The higher the standard of living and the greater the national wealth, the greater the amount of paper used.（托福真題）
生活水準越高，國家财富越多，紙張的使用量就越大。(雙條件從句，共一個主句)
The stronger the magnet, the greater the number of lines of magnetic force.
磁體越強，磁力線的數量就越大。
（3）第一個the引導的比例從句，如同時間、條件從句中一樣，也應當用一般現在時表示進來時：
The harder you practise, the greater progress you will make.

（4）語序問題：首先前部分的比例從句一律采用正裝語序；後部分的主句既可以采用正裝語序，也可以采用倒裝語序。（即後面的主句可以根據結果特點和資訊焦點的分布來安排語序），如：

你到得越晚，食物就越好。

在一般的the + 比較級，the + 比較級
的句型中，比例從句總是從句位于前部分，主句在後，與漢語的語序相一緻的。但是，英語的比例從句有時是主句在前一部分（而且其中的the可以省略，且比較級并不位于句首對稱放置，也即比較級處于正常位置），從句位于後一部分，請看：（此時翻譯漢語時要把放後面部分的從句先翻譯）
