RHEL 5 安裝序列号安裝序列号被用來配置安裝程式來提供正确的軟體包。如果您沒有輸入安裝号碼，隻有核心伺服器或 Desktop 将會被安裝。其它功能可以在以後被手工安裝。這個安裝序列号并不是說能讓你一直去更新享受官方的服務，隻是能讓你裝上并試用30天而已，30天以後yum将無法使用官方的源更新。當然系統還是可以用的，隻是不能用官方的更新檔包。你可以自己去下包來更新或者能找到非官方的源，如CentOS的源。

不管有沒有序列号，不影響任何功能元件的安裝！有序列号可以享受Redhat的30天的免費更新服務，沒有序列号則得不到官方的更新更新檔。序列号可以在Redhat網站上免費申請。關于安裝号碼的更多資訊，請參考
