dissertation
作為一個正式用語，我們一般可以在書面表達中見到dissertation這個詞。它主要指那些為了獲得學院和大學學位而完成的原創文章，一般是1-2萬字。

在英式英語中，大學和碩士論文叫做dissertation；在美式英語中，博士論文用dissertation。
thesis
這個詞也用來指畢業論文、學位論文，不過比起上一個詞，thesis的篇幅就更長了，它字數要求10萬字左右。
是以，它的内容也就更詳細更深入，要求更系統的研究調查和資料分析。
