“Mummy, I need a piece of paper and glue,” you requested. Moments later I was going into the bedroom, only to find you had parked yourself in its doorway, with two arms outstretched and two hands rested on the two vertical door jambs as if you were a latch. “You must scan jiankangbao,” you gazed up at me and said. Seeing a puzzled visitor, you freed your left hand from the one door jamb and pointed at the paper glued to the door jamb. You directed my attention to the crook of your left arm, which meant there was a code there. “Must scan the code,” you read out loud, pointing at and stressing each and every “character” you had written– I was sure you were the only one in the world who could make out these hieroglyphics-like arcane characters. “If you don’t swipe the code, you can’t get in,” you continued.
“媽媽，我要一張紙和膠水兒，”你說。過了一會兒，我要進卧室，發現你站在門口，兩隻胳膊左右伸展，手扒着兩邊門框，不讓進。“必須掃健康寶，”你擡頭望着我說。看到來到門口的這位很困惑，你從門框上騰出一隻手，指着粘在門框上的紙說，“這寫着，必須掃健康寶。”你又指着你的左臂彎處，意思是那兒有個二維碼。紙上是你自己寫的幾個字，你一個個字指着一個個念出來，“必須得掃碼。” 你寫的字像是象形文字，其實根本就沒人看得懂，想必你是世界上唯一能認得的。“如果你不掃碼，就不能進去，”你又說。
It was then that I cottoned on to what you meant the paper and glue for. You let me in after I scanned the imaginary code on your arm with my mobile phone.
此時我才明白你要紙和膠水兒的意圖。我用我的手機掃了一下你手臂上其實根本不存在的二維碼後，你就讓我進去了。
