My wonderful Uni life in Australia(2)-First day in Melbourne🌷😊
This blog is edited from the original one written in 2006 🌹
I received a message from my Uni friend Yutaka today, "We've been great in Australia for 19 years!!!"
Yes, yes, amazing!!! Congrats 🥳
At the end of Sep. 2003, I was picked up by a Uni bus from Latrobe Uni at the Melbourne Airport.
I looked outside the window; it was a beautiful, cloudless blue sky with a spectacular countryside view.
The whole city looked flat, with almost no high-rise buildings, and I could hardly see anyone walking on the street.
"Am I gonna live in this mountain area?" I was astonished.
Suddenly, there's an announcement, "Hello, everyone, here is the last stop; please get off here; a security bus will come over to pick you up shortly."
I waited with excitement; here you go, a Uni shuttle bus was coming.
Compared with Aussies' casual style, my dress was between fashion and formal.
A pair of leather semi-heel summer shoes, with Denim Jean Jacket on, matched up with a pair of stylish short trousers, which made me feel odd.
In Melbourne, it seemed nobody cared about the dress as much as people in my hometown, Shanghai.
After a while, the bus stopped outside a residential building.
There came an Asian lady who led me to my accommodation; on the way, I heard a few people talking with Taiwan-Chinese Accent.
When the door opened, I looked around: what the hell? Was the one I booked from Uni Website?
The room was vast and empty, with a tiny bed in the corner. It looked like someone had made the room temporarily.
I will keep writing my story next time.
