The following Linux operating systems have been tested and are on the list

of supported guests for Virtual Server 2005 R2:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 (update 6)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 (update 6)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.0

Standard distributions:

Red Hat Linux 7.3

Red Hat Linux 9.0

SuSE Linux 9.2

SuSE Linux 9.3

SuSE Linux 10.0

The Virtual Machine Additions for Linux are available through Microsoft

Connect.

To download the Virtual Machine Additions for Linux:

Click the Available Programs button on the left side of your

screen.

Sign in with a Microsoft Passport. (If you don't have a Passport, you will

be prompted to register for one.)

In the Available Programs list, scroll down to Virtual Machine Additions

for Linux, and then click Apply.

The Virtual Machine Additions for Linux provide the following

capabilities:

Improved Mouse and Video interaction for the Linux Guest

Host services to enable coordinated shutdown, time synchronization and

heartbeat between the Virtual Server 2005 R2 host and the Linux

Guest

Additional Virtual Machine Additions for Linux will be made available to

coincide with the release of Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1.

Customers who deploy supported guest operating systems in Virtual Server

2005 R2 can get product support through their normal Virtual Server 2005 R2

support channels. The Virtual Machine Additions for Linux will also be supported

through the same channels.
