Clusters of vibrant green vegetables, fresh melons and fruits, and busy figures all show the scene of a bumper harvest.
Hao Zengsheng, the person in charge of the park, said that recently, watermelons, bezoars, and grapes have been on the market one after another. Watermelon is the farm specially introduced from Shandong Shouguang "Meidu 2K" variety, sown at the end of last year, about to mature in the near future, the shape is thin, crisp, sweet and juicy, the average weight is about 2 kg, very popular with customers. The first stubble has 1 fruit per plant, and the yield is expected to reach 10,000 catties, and 2 stubbles can hang 2 fruits per plant, which is expected to mature around October, and the yield can reach 20,000 catties.
It is understood that the urban farm in Jinyuan District is a new project of Daohuacheng, a key agricultural project in Jinyuan District, which was launched in December 2021, with a total land area of 185.51 acres and a cumulative investment of more than 6,000 yuan to build a modern agricultural base integrating fruit and vegetable production, decomposition and packaging, picking experience, and popular science research. At present, the first phase of the strawberry farm, the second phase of the solar greenhouse and the main body of auxiliary facilities of the urban farm have been completed and put into use. Now the farm has a total of 36 greenhouses, 27 varieties of fruits, and 15 types of fresh vegetables. Among them, 1 shed of watermelon, 3 sheds of peaches, 1 shed of prunes, 1 shed of bezoars, 1 shed of grapes, 9 sheds of strawberries, 3 sheds of vegetables, as well as newly introduced passion fruit, soft jujube kiwifruit and other varieties are being trialed.
In the park, the farm has specially created a cute pet paradise, with more than 10 kinds of hundreds of animals such as sika deer, peacocks, ostriches, turkeys, rabbits, etc., which can experience the fun of feeding food and meet children's exploration and interest in nature. The newly built fish and vegetable polyculture greenhouse is digging pits, preparing for the installation of the recirculating aquaculture system, and the workshop integrating cold storage storage and primary processing functions is also in full swing construction, a busy scene, developing in the direction of standardization, scale, green, efficient and intelligent production.
