It is understood that due to the weather, the flowering period of hollyhock this year is earlier than in previous years, and it is expected to reach the full flowering period from mid-May to June.
Hollyhock, the hometown flower of Sichuan people, originated in Sichuan and amazed the world. Because of the height of the tree, it is also commonly known as "chessboard flower" and "one zhang red", which is vividly compared to the most beautiful "string of strings" in the land of abundance by Sichuan netizens, and has been cultivated in China for more than 2200 years. There are more than 700 varieties of hollyhocks, and the flower colors are red, orange, yellow, purple, white and black. In the past ten years, Flower Valley has been committed to the collection and protection of hollyhock germplasm resources, and has collected and preserved more than 1,000 copies of various hollyhock resources, ranking first in the world. In recent years, more than 300 acres of hollyhocks have been planted in Flower Valley all year round, which is one of the largest and most concentrated hollyhock bases in the world.
It is reported that the Valley of Flowers is the linkage point of the 2024 Chengdu World Horticultural Expo. Citizens and tourists can not only enjoy its beautiful flowers in the hollyhock garden of the botanical hall at the main venue of the Chengdu World Horticultural Exposition, but also can move to Zhuanlong Town, Jintang County to watch hundreds of acres of the world's most beautiful hollyhock flowers.
