Preface

From the perspective of traditional visual art, ink painting, as an intellectual expression medium, is a materialized presentation of visual perception behavior, and when human vision acts on this materialized existence, it is an opening of horizon and space, and it is also a kind of self-limitation. Whether it is the original works of art, albums, reproductions and exhibition spaces, these materialized existences are the medium and strategy that act on the visual experience of the audience.

With the rapid development of interactive digital and virtual reality technology, traditional materialized image technology subverts the visual presentation basis of traditional image materialization through digital and virtualized media. For traditional visual arts, the evolution trend of digitization, virtualization and decentralization of virtual space horizons has reconstructive significance for the intellectual perception and expression of human vision, and has aroused new thinking.

Ink art works in the traditional sense are not only an intellectual perception and expression behavior, but also a materialized visual media presentation, in the current prosperity of digital and virtual visual technology, ink art challenges and anxieties, how to maintain its own existence in the virtual and reality interaction carnival is not dissolved.

Conclusion

Ink painting has its own context, and contains Chinese cultural ideals and emotional sustenance at the spiritual level. The values and life experiences accumulated in our cultural genes are all turned into ink images, which can often evoke the innermost resonance of people with a common destiny and pursuit. As a cultural proposition: where is ink painting going? In the context of the metaverse has become a visible future, inheritance and innovation have taken on an unusual significance.

As curator Jiang Zijun said, the metacosm is the first scientific and technological concept with digital culture as the core application scenario. How to develop the content of the metaverse, one is a sense of civilization, and the other is a sense of futurism and science fiction.

The exhibition of "Meta-Vision" is an innovation that combines a sense of civilization with a sense of the future. What new elements will this medium, which transcends the physical sense, bring to ink painting? To some extent, this series of exhibitions of "Never Ending Exhibitions" presents the appearance of "finding oneself, showing oneself, and surpassing oneself" of contemporary Chinese ink art. It has also become a landmark practice in the development of the art meta-universe, from digital twins, digital natives, and then to the fusion of virtual and real.
