Notice of the suspension of sightseeing tours in the departure area of the Big Jump

Shougang Ski Jump is located in Beijing Shougang Park, backed by four cooling towers of the former Shougang Electric Power Plant, adjacent to Yongding River in the west, Qunming Lake in the east, Chang'an Avenue in the south, and Shijingshan in the north. Shougang Ski Jump, which started construction in December 2018 and was delivered on November 27, 2019, is the first newly built and officially put into operation venue for the Beijing Winter Olympics, the only snow sports competition venue in Beijing, the world's first permanently retained big jump, and the world's first Olympic venue combined with the reuse of industrial heritage.

The Shougang Ski Jump is composed of three parts: the track, the referee tower and the grandstand area, with a length of 164 meters, a width of 34 meters, and a maximum point of 60 meters. The track and the finish zone both meet the design requirements for winter snow races, as well as the possibility of extreme sports and performing arts events in summer. The design of the Shougang Ski Jump is inspired by the image of Dunhuang's "Flying Sky", so it is also known as "Snow Flying Sky", the elegant curves and ShijingShan, Qunming Lake, High Line Park, Shangri-La Hotel, the new Shougang Bridge shine together, and at night, under the background of the lights, it is like the "crystal shoes" in the fairy tale, becoming the landmark building of Shougang Park.

Shougang Ski Jump is currently the best snowboard and freestyle ski jumping venue in the world. In December 2019, the just-built Big Jumping Platform hosted the 2019 Boiling Snow Beijing International Snow Federation Snowboarding and Freestyle Ski Jumping World Cup. At the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the elegant shape of the big jump platform and the unique landscape that perfectly integrate with the industrial heritage have attracted many media outlets around the world to report on it. IOC President Bach praised the Shougang Ski Jump as "a complete combination of competition venues, industrial heritage reuse and urban renewal." Gu Ailing, a Chinese athlete who participated in the competition here, won the first gold in the snow event of the Chinese team at the Winter Olympics, and was also the first gold in the history of the Freestyle Ski Women's Big Jump Winter Olympics; China's Su Yiming "Yi Ming" won the gold medal of the Men's Winter Olympics in Snowboarding, and the Shougang Ski Jump became the "Double Golden Blessing Land" of the Chinese team and the world's Internet red land. In the post-Winter Olympic era, the Shougang Ski Jump, as an important venue of the Beijing Winter Olympics, is open to the public, promoting more young people to participate in ice and snow sports.
