Qingwei ‖ a lamp, a grave, a person

I have always been a little curious, they all say that the lantern festival on the fifteenth day of the first month, what is there to make trouble? My understanding of the word "noisy" is limited to the noisy room and the awkwardness, as for the Lantern Festival, the impression is that this is really a much colder festival than Chinese New Year's Eve, and it is not worth a fuss. People say that only fifteen is the year, and after fifteen years, the year will be completely over, so the day of the Lantern Festival is called the Little Year in our hometown.

Compared with the three generations of the family reunion that Chinese New Year's Eve that night, the fifteenth day is basically a small family single, and will no longer be with the elderly, which is also one of the reasons why it is not as lively as the Chinese New Year's Eve. We have no place where the lights will be so lively, and if you want to talk about the lights, there are some, but they are not the painted flowers that are laid out for miles, but a radish lamp.

Select thick and straight carrots, cut into small sections of four or five centimeters, choose one side to dig a pit carefully with a coin or iron spoon, dig deep and not leaky, thin and impermeable around, and then find a strong thin grass rod, also folded into small sections, one end wrapped in cotton, one end inserted into the radish pit, and then pour peanut oil, a radish lamp has become, as if each family has to do dozens of to be enough, so every year fifteen and a half-head set, carrots are sought-after goods. In the past two years, more and more candles have been replaced, those candles have been made into yuanbao, lotus and many other styles, which are good-looking, convenient and save money, but many people still insist on making radish lamps, I think this process of making lamps is also a way for people to pin their feelings.

The radish lamp should be lit at night, the table full of lights will be carried to the courtyard, lit one by one, and then sent to the door of each house, a single door, a double door left and right, a lamp outside the gate, an intersection, a stove, a water tank, a granary, the rest of the table to pay homage to heaven and earth, to wait for all the lamps to burn out the lamp oil, the table can be moved back to the house, and before these, the first light was not at home, it was in the cemetery forest.

The tomb forest is buried with all the deceased people of recent generations in the village, and the large and small graves are scattered in the locust forest in the south of the village according to the family, and when the sky is dark, the men of each family use trays or cardboard boxes to hold radish lamps, firecrackers, and incense candles, one by one, in front of the graves of their relatives. When I was at home a few years ago, every year when the lights came on, I followed my dad. The highest grave was my grandfather's, an old man I had only seen in the photographs and felt quite charitable, a grandmother who was buried together, which was common when I was a child, who lived with my grandparents, smoked a cigarette bag on the chair in the doorway all day, and she lived to be ninety-five years old and died when I was in elementary school. On the left is the grandfather, on the right is the third grandfather, in front of each grave must be placed a few radish lamps, the same clan in front of the grave must be placed in front of a few lights, so soon each grave in front of a light, the woods lights bright as day.

My father will leave a lamp alone every year, take it to a grave a few tens of meters away in the west, this grave is much smaller, and lonely in one place, it seems very strange, my father said that this is my second aunt's, she is very small, so I have never seen it, and I can't talk about how much emotion, but every year when I stand in front of her grave, I still can't suppress a sadness, how long can a person's traces in the world remain? How long can a deceased person be remembered by future generations?

In my memory, my grandfather never went to the cemetery forest to put on the lamp, but before I went to middle school, every year on the day of the Lantern Festival, my grandfather would take a few lamps, a stack of yellow paper, and a candle, and go to the southeast of the village alone to worship his grandfather.

The southeast of the village is a flat wheat field, and there is no grave, but he can always find a fixed position, he said, when he was young, he followed my grandfather to here to put on the lamp, there will be no cemetery forest in the south of the village, the dead people in the village are buried in this field, since cremation instead of burial, this cemetery has been leveled. Whenever I think about this, I always feel more sad in my heart, people always say that people's inheritance depends on generations, and in the future, after my grandfather leaves, the southeast of the village should never see a turnip lamp again.

However, the Lantern is a festival after all, not blindly sad, fun in children, adults do the lamp, the hand will use water radish to make a lamp, water radish can be more than carrots, made of lights in the side of a pair of holes, with wire hanging on a wooden stick, children can carry the radish lamp everywhere.

In addition, if you say lively, it is the tomb forest when the lights are put on the firecrackers, at first to see whose firecrackers sound, and then the conditions are good, every household can afford to buy fireworks salute, so it began to compare whose fireworks are dazzling, who put more, as if less is not a descendant. Every year on the night of the Lantern Festival, standing at the top of the mountain and looking around, wherever there is a village near and far, brilliant fireworks rise, and the night sky is particularly beautiful. A few years ago, when I went home, I saw some people driving cars to go to the lights, fireworks to move to more than a dozen boxes, for a time, the grave became a place where families competed for financial resources, but I didn't know how much truth was for worshipping relatives.
