Liu Bingzhong (1216-1274), whose initial name was Kan (侃), was a native of Xingzhou (present-day Xingtai, Hebei). The Great Mongol State to the early Yuan Dynasty was an outstanding statesman, writer, poet and composer, and Kublai Khan's main adviser. He wrote a lot in astronomy, divination, arithmetic, and literature, and he was one of the representative poets in the northern poetry circle in the early Yuan Dynasty. Liu Bingzhong suggested that Kublai Khan, taking the meaning of "Dazha Qianyuan" in the I Ching, rename Mongolia "Dayuan", which Kublai Khan adopted, which is the origin of the name of the Yuan Dynasty.
