In the morning, the Warm Heart New Year was held in the outpatient waiting hall on the 2nd floor of Building 4 of the hospital, and the venue was festively arranged, with red lanterns and balloons hanging up. These small bone marrow transplant patients performed a wonderful program and received love gifts, and the atmosphere was warm.

A special child performed the song "My Father" with great affection. She is Shi Yaoyao (pseudonym), a 9-year-old child from Guizhou. Sensible, she said: Her life was given by her brother and the doctor. Shi's mother introduced that her daughter was the first child in the family, unfortunately suffered from marine anemia when she was 2 years old, and needed bone marrow transplantation, she took her daughter to many places for medical treatment, but did not find a suitable bone marrow transplant. On the advice of doctors, in order to save her daughter, she gave birth to a son in 2014. Fortunately, the son and daughter were successfully matched. In 2017, she found Professor Yu Kang, director of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Department of Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, to prepare for the transplantation of her brother.

Chen Yi, a hematologist at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenyi University, introduced: Shi's younger brother is the smallest bone marrow donor in the hospital, and he was less than 4 years old when he donated. Because the donor was young and low in weight, the hospital specially drew a part of the blood from the younger brother in advance, and when the stem cells were drawn, they were transfused back into the younger brother's body.
For this donation, the young brother was hospitalized for 4 days and collected hematopoietic stem cells in two separate sessions. Despite adequate preparations, when the stem cells were first extracted, the Shi family's younger brother still cried bitterly. Dr. Chen Yi recalled that although the needle for blood collection was relatively thick, the Shi family's younger brother was very sensible throughout the whole process and had to endure crying.
Subsequently, Yaoyao's stem cell transplantation was successful and reborn. The strong Yaoyao also impressed Chen Yi. Dr. Chen said: "This girl is particularly able to endure hardships, especially sensible and grateful. There were some complications after the transplant, but she always reassured her mother: I can bear it, I will get better soon. It is also very polite to treat medical staff. ”

Shi Yaoyao always remembered the goodness of her little brother, and it was his brother who donated bone marrow to save her life. Therefore, when the benevolent people collected micro-wishes this time, the gifts of other children were prepared for themselves, and she first thought of her brother and asked for a remote control car.
Mother Shi said that she is very grateful to the Wenzhou doctors and caring people for giving her daughter a new life. When she came to Wenzhou for medical treatment, she only brought 20,000 yuan with her, and the couple cobbled together, or faced a funding gap. Thanks to the Wenzhou Taiping Charity Merit Association and other caring people donated part of the medical expenses. And this time, with the help of caring people in Wenzhou, the daughter realized her own small wish.

"Warm Heart New Year" wishes young patients a speedy recovery
It is understood that the Hematology Department of the hospital has successfully carried out bone marrow transplantation for the 22nd anniversary, and the utilization rate of the Chinese bone marrow bank ranked sixth in the country in 2018, reaching a new height. Non-blood transplantation of children with marine anemia has become a feature and leads the country.
Yu Kang, director of the Department of Internal Medicine and director of the Department of Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, introduced that the Department of Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University is one of the three major centers in China to carry out poverty transplant surgery. At the same time, the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenyi University is the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation training base of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the first designated unit in Zhejiang Province with non-blood hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and collection qualifications. Every year, more than 5,000 patients with blood diseases are hospitalized, of which more than 400 patients with severe blood diseases need hematopoietic stem cell transplants. In the past two years, the hospital has successfully performed non-blood heterogeneous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for 62 children with severe marine anemia from Guizhou, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, Henan, Guangxi and other places.
Yu Kang said that these children are like the relatives of medical workers, and every year they hold heart-warming New Year activities for the children to wish them an early recovery and go home.
Shi's mother told Wendu reporter: Her husband and son are currently living in their hometown, she and her daughter live in Wenzhou convenient outpatient follow-up, and the family cannot be reunited during this year's Spring Festival. But the heart-warming New Year's activities prepared by the hospital made their mother and daughter particularly moved, and thank you to all the enthusiastic volunteers.
