On the day of "World Earth Day", the science popularization activity team of Changchun United School of Lianyuan City, Loudi City, went into nature to look for the "giant panda in the plant kingdom" from the petal-tailed sac.

In the morning, teacher Liu Xiping, a science popularization counselor, led everyone to the Xianrenfu Scenic Area of Meijiang National Geopark and looked for them outside the cave. Although the teacher told everyone about the physical characteristics of the petal-tailed saccharomycete and specially showed everyone a photo of it, but after searching carefully for half a day, the team members still did not find any trace of it. However, everyone was not very frustrated, the teacher took us to know butterfly flowers, gourd moss, rhododendrons, kingfishers, indigo and other plants, and everyone also carefully wrote natural observation notes.

In the afternoon, teacher Liu Xiping took the science popularization team to another place and continued to look for the vacillary tail cysts according to the information provided by the experts. It's all limestone cliffs, and there are thorns growing under the rock walls. Teacher Liu carefully pulled out the thorns and walked in the front. Suddenly, he smiled happily and excitedly told everyone: "Found! Finally found the locus caudal sac! So everyone approached the rock wall, and Teacher Liu pointed to a small grass with outstretched leaves in the rock gap and said, "This is the acrobacephalus called the 'giant panda in the plant world'. The children lined up one by one to watch and exclaimed, "Yo! It turned out to be like this. Soon, everyone found that there were four or five plants growing on this stone wall. Teacher Liu told everyone that because the living environment of the flap-tailed sac is very demanding, there are not many survivors now. At present, only parts of Sichuan and our Hunan Meijiang river have a small number of discoveries. The habit of the phylloscopus is special, flowering in the winter and entering a dormant period in the summer. It is highly dependent on calcium and grows mainly on cliffs dominated by limestone. Harsh natural conditions make its germination rate in the wild extremely low. In 2005, it was included in the Red List of Species in China, and in 2010, it was included in the National Rare Plant Protection List. The geomorphological structure of the Meijiang River is dominated by limestone, and the debris after natural weathering of limestone is sprinkled in the stone nest or crevice, and this special geological structure and the calcium-rich fissure water in the limestone fissure make the calcareous fissure water survive.

The squad members returned to the rock wall and continued to write their observation notes. Teacher Liu also said that tomorrow is the 50th "World Earth Day", and the theme of this year's World Earth Day is "Cherish the Beautiful Earth and Protect Natural Resources". We must start from ourselves, start from the small things around us, and promote the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. There is only one earth in the universe, and human beings share a home. To cherish the earth and protect resources is to protect ourselves. Teacher Liu finally stressed that for today's discovery, we should not publicize it everywhere, let it grow quietly in nature. The squad members frequently nodded their heads and solemnly wrote down "cherishing the beautiful earth and protecting natural resources" in their notebooks.
