Sudden deafness, referred to as sudden deafness, refers to a sudden loss of hearing, which can be manifested as sensorineural hearing loss on clinical examination. So far, modern medicine has not yet determined the exact cause of sudden deafness, including viral infections, circulatory disorders in the inner ear, hypoxia of the outer lymphatic circulation, immune abnormalities, and external lymphatic fistula.
As a national key discipline and key specialty of traditional Chinese medicine, our department has an academic leader represented by the master of traditional Chinese medicine, Gan Zuwang, who has a unique insight into the treatment of sudden deafness, and has formed its own academic viewpoint and a complete theoretical system. Sudden deafness belongs to the category of "violent deafness" in Traditional Chinese medicine, and is often divided into the following types of evidence for dialectical treatment.
Lung qi is not pronounced
Patients with this type of disease have a more acute onset, often have a history of colds, sudden loss of hearing, accompanied by a feeling of ear closure, nasal congestion, cough, thin sputum, thin white tongue, and floating pulses. Elder Gan believes that this is mostly the invasion of wind and evil, because the knot of the lung meridian is in the ear, the nose and the ear are connected, the lung qi is not declared, the nose is not clear, and the ear is deaf.
The method of treating the proposed lung trick should be added or subtracted by the soup of the lung pass. Medicinal composition: ephedra, almond, ginger banxia, tangerine peel, poria, fried white art, Sichuan root, angelica, stone calamus, chai hu, white root, licorice.
Phlegm clouding is obscured
In addition to hearing loss, this type of evidence must be accompanied by a feeling of obstruction and fullness in the ear. Phlegm, dizziness or swelling, chest stuffiness, body fat, smooth and thick tongue, veins.
To cure healthy spleen and phlegm, fang xuan two Chen tang plus or minus, can be added tianzhu yellow, bile south star, white mustard seed, calamus and so on. Hyperactivity of the liver and yang

The tympanic membrane is intact and not hyperemic, and a few people have tenderness in the mastoid area. Blood pressure fluctuates easily. The tongue is red, the moss is thin white or thin yellow, and the veins are strong.
To cure liver diarrhea, gentian diarrhea liver soup or gardenia liver soup can be used. If there is both waist and knee soreness, red tongue and less moss, fine pulses, etc., it is a liver and kidney yin deficiency, phase fire inflammation, it is advisable to use less or no gentian grass and other bitter cold products, and choose the chrysanthemum yellow soup plus summer dry grass, bitter ding tea, etc., or choose Dan Gardenia to scatter.
Clinical evidence found that the sudden onset of the disease in female patients can be related to the menstrual cycle. People with premenstrual periods are accompanied by this disease, and the dialectic is mostly liver depression fire, which should be cleared of fire and cool blood, and more with yellow, summer dry grass, light bamboo leaves and other clear liver cool blood.
The heart and kidneys do not give evidence
The onset of deafness is sudden, worse after mood swings or panic, and sometimes pain in the ear, accompanied by palpitations, tremors, or burning sensations in the heart, or often a mouth sores, red face, insomnia, dreams, and yellow urine. The tympanic membrane is examined for abnormalities, and a small number of patients may have mild hyperemia. The tip of the tongue is red, the moss is thin, and the number of veins is numbered.
It is advisable to purify the heart fire, the light is to choose the guide red scatter, and the heavy is to choose the laxative heart soup. Those who have both waist and knee soreness, dizziness, for the kidney yin deficiency, heart and kidney do not intersect, the treatment should be diarrhea away from the filling, that is, laxative heart fire, kidney water, traffic heart and kidney, square choose two return soup. Evidence of stagnant blood stasis

Cure should be invigorating blood, and fang chooses to activate blood soup. Because its main medicine musk is not easy to obtain, therefore, dry old commonly used three-carbs scatter addition and subtraction, such as angelica tail, safflower, peach kernel, danpi, red peony, gun mountain beetle, hot turtle shell, ground turtle insect, Sichuan root and so on. Blood activation and stasis method is the most common method for treating deafness, and clinical treatment can also be used to supplement Yang and Wu Tang.
Insufficient qi and blood
Hearing loss, aggravation after each encounter with fatigue, or fatigue, low voice and timidity, no color, loss of appetite, abdominal distention, thin stool, palpitations and insomnia, light and fat tongue, edges or tooth marks, thin white moss, weak pulses. Check the eardrum to see cloudiness and invertation.
This type of patient is also more common, the treatment of healthy spleen and qi ascension, the choice of Yiqi smart soup or tonic Yiqi soup. In addition, sijunzi soup and ginseng baishu powder can also be applied, but should be used with drugs that raise the qi, such as cohosh, kudzu, and chai hu (in the three flavor medicines, 1 to 2 flavors can be used, and 3 flavors can also be used). This can also be seen as a kind of "shock therapy", encouraging the Yang Qi to rise in the ear and help the mind.
Cranberry and calamus have the effect of introducing drugs upwards, and can be used as medicines to induce the ear tips. For those with high blood pressure, the lifting drug should be used with caution.
