Although the week of Xiao Qiang had not yet begun when I wrote this article, I seemed to have seen that every previous article would have "I understand the reason, but how to eliminate Xiao Qiang at home?" " comments. No way, who let the German cockroaches rank on the last day; if it is ranked on the first day, I will introduce the prevention and control method of Xiaoqiang on the first day, this pot I do not carry q, do not carry (́_ゝ')
The calendar lady said weakly: Blame me...
The German cockroach (Blattella germanica) is today's protagonist. As the name suggests, the German cockroach is a small cockroach and has little to do with Germany. It is now generally believed that the German cockroach comes from Southeast Asia, where it has many relatives who look like it, and we should have seen it yesterday. It is said that in Germany, the German cockroach is called the "French cockroach", reflecting the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
The small cockroaches that are common in other cities, including the American cockroach, the Australian cockroach and the Oriental cockroach, don't really like to be indoors; they just like to settle around the house and run in from time to time to get a soy sauce. German cockroaches are a different species, they depend on our homes from birth to death, and are therefore one of the most common and major indoor pests.

The German cockroach is much smaller than the American cockroach, with a yellowish-brown body and two black longitudinal stripes on the dorsal plate of the forebreast. Although the appearance of such a small strong in the wild is a taxonomist's nightmare, it is the best recognizable insect when it appears at home; after all, several large cockroaches in the city insects look quite similar to the Oriental cockroaches when they are young, but the German cockroach is the only one.
In addition to the typical color scheme in the picture above, the German cockroach also has a light color type:

German cockroaches can carry a variety of pathogenic bacteria and parasites. At present, the research on cockroaches in the spread of disease can be divided into two categories: the first is to capture Xiaoqiang in restaurants, hospitals, houses and other places to detect the pathogens they carry; the second is to infect Xiaoqiang with specific pathogens in the laboratory to detect their ability to carry pathogens. But only common pathogen carriers can be proven, and there is no direct evidence that German cockroaches can actually transmit the disease to humans.
If vector organisms want to spread diseases, it is not enough to carry pathogens, but also needs to have effective transmission routes. Mosquitoes, for example, are highly effective and deadly disease transmitters, because many pathogens, including malaria, have evolved a life history of transmission through mosquito salivary glands; bed bugs, which are also blood-sucking insects, have no record of disease transmission. Cockroaches do not have accurate cases of disease transmission and lack of effective transmission routes: after all, they do not parasitize humans, and humans do not eat them.
In extreme cases, cockroaches may mistakenly enter the ear canal while a person is sleeping, causing a foreign body to enter the ear. Although it sounds scary, from the actual situation I have seen, if there are so many cockroaches crawling on the bed, the owner of the house will either lose his ability to take care of himself and leave no one to take care of it, or the hygiene habits are terrible. In most cases, German cockroaches are mainly active in places where food and water are available, such as kitchens and toilets.
The real negative effect of the German cockroach on people is to trigger allergies. The feces, secretions and insect molts of the German cockroach contain a range of highly allergenic proteins that can cause allergic reactions and even asthma. People who were not allergic to them will also have allergy symptoms after repeated contact with allergens (such as me, who is responsible for cleaning the cockroach breeding room...). )。 For people with severe allergies, even a small amount of German cockroach allergens can cause reactions, so it is very important to correctly deal with German cockroaches that appear indoors.
The German cockroach is one of the easiest indoor pests to control; yes, one of the easiest. The reason why people generally have the illusion that cockroaches are difficult to deal with is because cockroaches are the most often encountered indoor pest problems, and second, they do not master the correct control methods. Unlike blood-sucking insects, cockroaches have no interest in people themselves; they are simply attracted to garbage made by humans. In nature, cleaners like cockroaches and flies clean up by eating garbage, turning it into easily degradable feces and eventually becoming fertilizer to nourish everything. But human houses are not biologically active soils; feces, corpses, and other decomposition products only accumulate more and more, and the results are counterproductive. The best way to keep cockroaches out of your home is to clean them yourself and don't wait for these natural cleaners to come uninvited.
If there is already a German cockroach in the home, cleaning is still the first important means of prevention and control, garbage, exposed food and pet food, and the dead corner of the shade and damp hygiene are the key cleaning objects. Do not use insecticidal sprays and incense, which can only kill individuals and have no egg use for the entire population. In addition to cleaning, if you want to speed up the progress of prevention and treatment, you can use the following three-piece set:
1. Armyworm plate

Place multiple armyworm plates in various corners of the home for more than a day and then check. This will give you an idea of the presence, approximate density and spatial distribution of cockroaches in the home. When the number of cockroaches in the home is not large, the sticky worm board can also directly reduce the worm mouth. Armyworm plates should be used repeatedly throughout the control process to monitor changes in the number and distribution of cockroaches.
2. Poison bait
Poisonous bait is the main tool for controlling cockroaches. The commonly used sprays and incense are useless because cockroaches avoid these drugs and are prone to resistance. The bait is the opposite: cockroaches are drawn to active exposure to drugs, and the dose of the drug ingested is much higher than that of contact, and it is difficult for resistant individuals to resist such a high dose.
After using the armyworm plate to learn the number and distribution of cockroaches, place poisonous bait where they are often active. Photography: Deep Mountain Bug Groan
The casting of poison bait pays attention to a small number of places, and each casting point only needs to put a small ball, but the click of the poison bait can be as many as hundreds.
3. Boric acid
The mechanism of boric acid killing cockroaches has been mentioned in the Oriental cockroach chapter. You can sprinkle a layer of boric acid along the root of the wall, the thinner the better, too many cockroaches will directly avoid. Hygiene dead spots such as the back of the refrigerator can also be used.

But the above three prevention and control methods need to be solved to play their greatest role after the hygiene problem is solved; I have seen some dirty rooms, because there are too many food scraps, cockroaches eat too much and do not touch the bait; because the floor is too dirty, the boric acid sprinkled on it turns black in a few days. Next-door neighbors, even if they are clean, are not immune to cockroach infestation. What can I say at such a time? Cockroaches themselves are not the makers of problems, they just faithfully reflect the hygiene habits of some people, and the shortcomings of hygiene management in some places.
