This is a horned cicada, but from the outside, it has two more horns than our common cicada head. It was the first time I got so close to appreciate its beauty. (Image from Oriental IC)

Treehopper is an insect of the family Membracidae, nearly 2,600 species. The face is vertical, and the deformity of the dorsal plate of the anterior thorax expands, forming a spine forward across the head and covering the ventral end backwards. Green, blue, or bronze, often with markings. (Image from Oriental IC)
Horned cicadas, also known as "thorn bugs," are insects that are well versed in the art of imitation. Some horned cicadas have horn-like protrusions that are even more ornate, and they use this to mimic dead leaves. If their camouflage is recognized, the horned cicadas will bounce up with the help of their powerful hind legs and quickly escape. (Image from Oriental IC)
It is well known that the horns on the heads of cattle, the horns on the heads of deer, and the horns on the heads of rhinos are not beautiful ornaments, but weapons used for attack or defense. Amazingly, in the insect family, there are also many insects with strange horns on their heads, and the horned cicada is one of them. (Image from Oriental IC)
The horns of the horned cicada are indeed very strange. Its horns, unlike mammals, grew from the skull, but were formed from the dorsal plate of the front chest of the thorax. Different kinds of horned cicadas have different horns, and the horns of the Chinese high-crowned horned cicada extend high backwards and upwards, as if wearing a high-crowned hat; the horns of the three-spined horned cicada stick out backwards against the abdomen and back, like a spike. These strangely shaped horns on the head of the horned cicada are not used for fighting like beasts, but they have their own wonderful uses. (Image from Oriental IC)
The horned cicada is a worm that prefers to live in trees. When the high-crowned horned cicada stops perching on the branches, the "high crown" on its head can easily be mistaken for a dead branch. (Image from Oriental IC)
When the three-spiny horned cicada falls on a tree with thorns, its backwards-extending spines are mixed in, making it more difficult to distinguish between true and false. (Image from Oriental IC)
Incredibly, when several or a dozen horned cicadas rest on the same branch, they are also equidistantly arranged, making people look like real small branches. With such a realistic mimetic camouflage and mimicking its surroundings, the horned cicada can easily deceive its enemies and save itself. (Image from Oriental IC)
The unicorn is also a worm with long horns on its head. It is large, clad in hard armor, and has a long horn protruding forward from its head with a small fork at the end. Because this one-horn is a weapon used by male insects to fight for mates and fight, it is only unique to male insects. In the season of one-horned immortal courtship, once the two males meet, they must use this "intimidating" unicorn to start a fierce fight. (Image from Oriental IC)
The sound of cicadas is pleasant to the ear, and the shape of wax cicadas and horned cicadas is unique, which is a popular ornamental insect. (Image from Oriental IC)
