This year's "May Day" holiday, where should we go?
It's another year of "May Day" outing season. Affected by the new crown virus pneumonia epidemic, most travelers have changed the previous travel principle of personal interest as the first choice, and "safety and health" has become the hot spot of most concern for tourists. In line with the principle of nearby and staggered peak travel, consider that in the limited holiday, both to avoid the peak hours of popular attractions and attractions, but also to avoid long-term entertainment in a confined space, but also to enjoy the joy of the holiday, in this late spring and early summer season, more people will target the outdoors, choose to walk in the green world with backpacks on their backs.
Through the mountains and forests, through the meadows, picnic barbecues, not too...
But
Don't enjoy pleasure and neglect safety
When outdoor activities, pay special attention to an octopus worm
It's just that — ticks
Where is the "tick" sacred?
Hard ticks
Soft ticks
The scientific name tick (pronounced pí), there are many nicknames: grass crawlers, flat lice, dog beans, cattle lice and so on are all said to be it. Ticks are obligate blood-sucking harmful arthropods belonging to the arachnids, suborder ticks, parasites, ticks. It is extremely harmful to people and animals. The back of the adult body has a shield plate with strong shelling, commonly known as hard ticks, belonging to the hard tick family. If there is no shield, it is a soft tick.
Today's "protagonist" is the tick.
Hard ticks are usually active frequently in April-October,
Due to different tick species, the peak period of activity is different.
Hard ticks usually like to stay in lush vegetation such as grass, bushes, forests, etc.
Free ticks are very small,
Mainly by sucking blood,
It parasitizes the body surface of vertebrates such as humans, domestic animals, and birds.
The body shape changes greatly before and after blood sucking:
Vampire front body "petite"
After sucking blood , " plump " like beans
The weather is sunny and outdoor activities are increasing,
People dress coolly, skin bare,
You may be "targeted" by ticks if you are not careful.
What's so scary about ticks?
Tick bites can cause direct harm such as allergies, ulcers or inflammation, and the general symptoms are mild. However, in terms of transmitting diseases, the power of ticks can not be underestimated, in insect-borne diseases, tick-borne pathogens are the most diverse, including viruses, spirochetes, rickettsia, bacteria, anonous bodies, protozoal diseases, and a certain toxin, which can cause forest encephalitis, Lyme disease, relapse fever, fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome, tick paralysis and other diseases, seriously endangering human health.
Ticks often change the host when sucking blood, their sense of smell is sharp, sensitive to animal sweat odor and carbon dioxide, even 15 meters away from the host, can also be perceived, change passive waiting to active attack, once in contact with the host that climbs up. The seasonal migration of migratory birds also contributes to the spread of ticks.
Why is it not easy to be found immediately after a tick bite?
Tick stings are more painless when they suck blood, because after ticks bite through people's skin, anticoagulants and anesthetics are injected into the human body to prevent blood from clotting, and at the same time, their saliva carries toxins, resulting in tick bites are not easy to be found. Punctured skin can cause local congestion, edema, secondary infection, and even ascending muscle paralysis, leading to respiratory failure and death.
But more importantly, through the blood sucking of ticks, the pathogen carried in the body is transmitted to humans or animals, causing the spread of tick-borne diseases between humans and animals.
How can I reduce the risk of tick bites?
During the tick active season, the possibility of entering the tick activity area is minimized. Prolonged sitting in the main habitat of ticks such as grasslands and woods should be avoided as much as possible.
Do a good job of personal protection. Enter the activity area of ticks, try to wear light-colored trousers, long-sleeved tight-knit clothes; choose smooth knitwear on the surface that is not easy to adhere to; do not wear sandals.
Applying repellents such as DEET (DEET, recommended only for people over 2 years of age) on bare skin can be effective for several hours.
When returning from camping in the wilderness or in the woods, check each other's clothes and shoes for ticks, and then take a shower and rinse. Soak the removed clothes in a disinfectant and wash and dry.
Ticks often attach to the body's scalp, waist, armpits, groin, inner thighs, and under the ankles, requiring key examination.
Thankfully, not every tick carries "poison." Only tick bites that carry pathogens will become sick, so if you find yourself bitten by ticks after outdoor activities, don't be nervous, and it is important to deal with it correctly.
What should I do if I find that I have been bitten by a tick?
What does a tick bite look like?
Skin after tick bites
There are erythema on the skin
Circle after circle expands outward
Tick bites must be removed as early as possible. Ticks can be clamped as close to the skin as possible with commercial tick picking tools or easily available forceps, and removed by lifting with steady upward force.
0 1 Use commercial tick picking tools
Remove using forceps
0 2
If the bite is too long or if the tick bite is recommended, surgical removal is recommended at the hospital. Instruct the doctor to carry out local anesthesia after disinfection at the bite site, and after the anesthesia takes effect, the tick can be removed with forceps (pay attention to check whether the tick head is intact to prevent residues in the skin), and at the same time, explain the situation to the doctor in detail, so that the doctor can take corresponding examination and treatment measures. After the tick is removed, the physical condition should be observed at any time and communicated with the doctor in time.
Ticks are found crawling on the skin, and they cannot be killed like mosquitoes, they should be blown away or gently bounced off the skin and then executed.
note
Special tips
Ticks rarely survive in the outdoor environment of the general community in the city, so there is no need to worry too much.
Friends who have cute pets at home, walk dogs in the suburbs, lawns and other places, when they come back, they should check whether there are special "guests" on the body of the little cute pets to go home together; friends who like wild fishing should tighten their pants and wear high-top shoes and boots when fishing meditation.
Friends who like hiking, in the wild, please reduce the "unusual road" preference, should stay away from weeds and bushes.
