On November 1, Forbes released a list of the highest-paid deceased celebrities of 2021, including pre-tax income and estate acquisitions for the period from October 30, 2020 to October 30, 2021. Forbes refers to MRC data, IMDbPro and other data, and interviews industry insiders to make lists.

Roald Dahl topped the list with $513 million, died on November 23, 1990, at the age of 74, and Dahl's heirs sold a stake in Roald Dahl Story to Netflix in September 2021. The second, PRINCE, whose three heirs cashed in on the stake, is expected to sell a total of $108 million, bringing its ranking on the list up 8 places from 10th in 2020; Michael Jackson, whose music publishing company Mijac, received $30 million in new investment this year.

Charles Schulz ranked fourth, Peanuts increased revenue by $47 million this fiscal year to a total of $157 million; and fifth was Dr. Seuss. SEUSS), whose children's book sold nearly 7 million copies in the United States last year, and Dr. Seuss also struck a deal with Netflix to premiere the second season of "Green Eggs and Ham" on November 5.
