Emberiza elegans ( ) is a small songbird with a short , erect black crown with long , broad eyebrow lines from the forehead to the occipital side , yellowish-white at the front and bright yellow at the posterior. The back is maroon red or dark maroon, chin black, upper throat yellow, lower throat white. Females and males are roughly similar, but have paler plumage and a black turned brown head.
