On October 28, the "2021 Shenzhen Skills Competition - Chain Operation Manager Vocational Skills Competition" was successfully concluded. The top 30 players became the first batch of senior (level 3) chain management engineers (also known as "digital store managers") certified through the competition, and Ele.me issued alibaba-certified vocational skill level certificates, and enjoyed talent policies such as 2,000 yuan subsidies and shenzhen settlement bonus points. The top 4 players in the comprehensive results can also be awarded the title of "Shenzhen Technical Expert" after being approved by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.

Sponsored by Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions, Ele.me, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Light Industry Branch, Shenzhen Zhongnuosi Technology Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Sesame Work Permit, the competition aims to accelerate the training and selection of a group of high-skilled talents in the chain operation and management of offline physical stores, and improve the digital level of the local life service industry.
Cai Yuxing, director of the Vocational Skills Appraisal guidance office of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, said that the competition actively explored a diversified and socialized new mode of running the competition, which was jointly hosted by platform enterprises, industry organizations and colleges represented by Ele.me. The successful holding of the event will effectively promote the standardized process of training new vocational skills talents of chain management engineers, lead the direction of the selection of high-skilled talents in the industry, and provide solid talent support for the high-quality development of Shenzhen's modern service industry.
In total, the competition reached more than 2.3 million people, nearly 1,500 people completed skills courses in the competition, and more than 600 people were certified as chain management engineers. The competition has driven a large number of Shenzhen enterprises and practitioners to train and learn enthusiastically, providing the digital upgrading experience of skilled talents who "substitute training with races" and "promote learning with races".
The person in charge of the Ele.me Training and Certification Center said that with the rapid development of the mobile Internet, the digital ability of local life service practitioners may directly determine the operational efficiency of enterprises. Taking the catering industry as an example, it used to be considered a labor-intensive industry, but now almost all the brands with hot business are good at refined online operations. Therefore, Ele.me set up a training and certification center in March 2020 to work with government departments and merchants to promote the training and certification of new vocational talents required by the industry.
Shenzhen Luyuan Catering Management Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the catering industry for 36 years, and nearly 70 employees have registered for the competition. Ma Dongru, head of its human resources department, said that Luyuan Catering very much encourages employees to improve their digital skills through competition learning. "Through the competition, I learned that Ele.me is promoting the training and certification of the digital store manager profession, which is very consistent with the digital development plan of Luyuan Catering, and I hope that further cooperation can be made to train restaurant managers in the future."
Zhou Lin, who won the 4th place in the competition, is a "post-95" mother, who works in the hotel catering department of a state-owned enterprise and has been paying attention to the changes brought by digitalization to the industry. "Originally, I was worried that the unit leaders would have some ideas about our participation in the competition, but I didn't expect that the leaders would not only be very supportive after learning about it, but also 'complained' that we had not been able to synchronize information with the company as soon as possible and mobilize more employees to participate." Zhou Lin said.
With the continuous advancement of the digitization of offline stores, the career growth space of practitioners like Zhou Lin has also been further opened. In the past, employers generally recruited based on their resumes, lacking a third-party endorsement that had credibility in their professional skills. When the chain management manager and other certifications appear, job seekers who have mastered digital skills only need to present the academic qualifications and skill certificate information in their sesame work cards to the employer to take the lead in the workplace competition.
It is understood that Ele.me has obtained the social third-party level training and evaluation qualifications such as chain management engineers in Guangdong Province, and local practitioners can enjoy 1500 to 2000 yuan subsidies and other related talent policies through training and certification.
