Macao, October 29 (China News Service) -- The Macao Government Tourism Office announced on the 29th that as the epidemic situation in Macao continues to remain stable, the number of tourists visiting Macao has continued to rise in recent days. From October 20 to 28, the average daily passenger traffic exceeded 25,000, of which the 26th recorded a single-day high of 28,000.
Since Macao entered a "state of immediate prevention" on 25 September and further tightened epidemic prevention measures, the number of visitors to Macao has plummeted. In response to the relaxation of epidemic prevention and control measures at Zhuhai-Macao ports from noon on 19 October, MGTO immediately went all out to promote publicity work and continued to promote macao's safe and suitable travel messages to mainland residents through WeChat, Weibo, Little Red Book and Douyin.
In addition, MGTO has also continued to strengthen online publicity to promote Macao's events, coupled with the superposition effect of a number of preferential offers of "expanding the source of customers", mainland netizens have responded enthusiastically and expressed their expectations for macao tourism on relevant social network platforms.
According to reports, in November and December Macao will have a number of grand events and community activities, including the Macau Grand Prix and the Macao Food Festival, the Macao Light Festival and the "Macau Drone Show Event", etc. MGTO also actively plans offline activities "Macao Week", hoping to attract more tourists to Macao to spend on tourism, drive the community economy, and help Macao's tourism industry recover.
Lo Chi-leung, Chairman of the Macau Hotel & Tourism Association, said that the fourth season belongs to the traditional promotional season, and tourists will come to Macau to shop according to the past habits. It is expected that with the control of the epidemic in Macao, the 7-day nucleic acid test validity period of Zhuhai-Macao customs clearance will be restored as soon as possible, and with the grand prix and food festivals, the hotel occupancy rate in Macao is expected to rise to 70% to 80% in November.
