Yesterday afternoon, "Thought and Literature: Entering Wang Yangming's Spiritual World -- The Second National Forum on the Integration of Knowledge and Action for College Students" was held in Shaoxing. Undergraduates, master's students and doctoral students from all over the country and universities gathered together to experience and exchange Yangming culture.
It is understood that during the call for papers from the end of July to October 20, 2021, the National College Students Knowledge and Practice Integration Forum received a total of 126 papers from 45 colleges and universities in 19 provinces and cities across the country. Among them, students from universities outside Shaoxing Submitted 73 papers, and students from Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences submitted 53 papers. There are 21 doctoral dissertations, 54 master's theses and 51 undergraduate dissertations. The number of doctoral and master's students participating has greatly increased compared with the previous session, indicating that the National Forum on the Integration of Knowledge and Practice of College Students is not only attracting more and more attention from young college students, but also the quality of the forum is getting higher and higher. Among the 126 papers, the topic selection of the paper is wide-ranging, and the literature, history and philosophy majors are opened and fully covered, which shows that YangmingXinxue does have a wide influence among contemporary youth.
Shaoxing is the former residence of Wang Yangming and the birthplace of Yangming's thought. Wang Yangming's ideas such as "To conscience", "Unity of knowledge and action", and "My Heart is Bright" have taken root and blossomed here. Yangming thought is all over the streets and alleys, from education to culture, from development to construction, from schools to academies, all of which are permeated with Yangming culture. In recent years, Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences has been highly conscious in the research and dissemination of YangmingXin, and has successively established Shaoxing Wang Yangming Research Institute and Shaoxing College Wang Yangming Research Center to actively serve major academic activities such as Yangmingxue Research and "YangmingXin science conference".
"In recent years, the school has also organized students to actively participate in the study of Yangming Xinxue and the dissemination of Yangming culture, established the National College Students Wang Yangming Research Forum Alliance and the Yangming Drama Club of Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences, and built a four-in-one Yangming cultural practice education system of 'research, creation, performance and evaluation'." According to the relevant person in charge of Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences, in the past two years, students have published more than 50 research papers by Wang Yangming, and more than 20 national-level college students' innovation training projects and Zhejiang Province's college students' scientific and technological innovation activity plan (new seedling talent plan) have been approved. Among them, original dramas such as "A Saint Wang Yangming of the Ages" and "My Heart is Bright" written and directed by the students have attracted attention from all walks of life. Yesterday, Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences set up the "Yangming Culture Inheritance Base for College Students", which is to provide a new carrier for better promoting the spread of Yangming culture among college students.
