Talking about planting gardenia, Luo Yafei, a poor household in Baheng Village, introduced it happily.
Cen Guizhi, secretary of the party branch of Baheng Village, introduced that their village is surrounded by mountains, less arable land and more barren mountains, planting traditional crops can only support the family, and if you want to achieve real poverty alleviation, the key is to have industrial support.
In 2015, the Tianlin County Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Service Center introduced the order of The Gardenia Processing Factory in Luzhai County, Liuzhou City, and carried out spotting trial planting in Baheng Village, Ding'an Town, Weimi Village, Baxin Village and Nang Village of Badu Yao Nationality Township in Tianlin County, and after vigorous development in recent years, the area of gardenia planted in the county reached 617 mu in 2020.
"There are 12 families in the village who have planted water gardenias, covering an area of 140 acres, and the original barren mountains have become cornucopias." Cen Guizhi introduced that the gardenia results are not worried about sales, and every year there are bosses who come to buy it.
It is understood that the gardenia tree has the distinction of mountain gardenia and water gardenia, mountain gardenia is mainly used in traditional Chinese medicine, with the effect of relieving heat and cool blood, calming pain, wind and dampness, and water gardenia can be used as a traditional Chinese medicine, but also can extract natural pigment - gardenia yellow. Gardenia yellow is a kind of yellow pigment extracted from the fruit of gardenia, and its composition is mainly carotenoid pigmented saffron, which is currently an internationally popular safe and natural food additive, widely used in food, fruit wine, beverages, medicine and other industries.
"Gardenia is easy to plant, easy to manage, low cost, high yield and stable price, planting in the second year will bear fruit, the third year to achieve a stable yield of about 2,000 catties per mu, there is a harvest period of nearly 10 years." Huang Longde, executive deputy director of the county's Chinese herbal medicine industry service center, introduced that today, the green gardenia tree has become the villagers' "poverty alleviation" magic weapon and hope for prosperity.
In recent years, Tianlin County has deeply implemented the "ecological county" development strategy, deeply integrated the development of the Chinese herbal medicine industry with the strategy of rural revitalization and poverty alleviation, fully implemented the support policies, continuously strengthened scientific and technological support, and guided and encouraged farmers to develop and expand the Chinese herbal medicine planting industry through order acquisition and enterprise employment through the mode of "company + base + cooperative + poor households", and broadened the channels for the masses to increase income and get rich.
