Let the good take root in the heart
Wang Yangming said: "Seeking the highest good in everything and everything is also righteous." The supreme goodness is the essence of the mind, but the 'Ming Mingde' to the 'Supreme Perfection to one' is. But he did not try to leave things. ”
What is the Supreme Good? Simply put, it is the highest state of goodness, which is what we usually call the principle of heavenly reason, truth, and so on. So, where is the supreme goodness? How should we seek the highest good? Mr. Yang Ming believes that the supreme good is the essence of the human heart, so we should go to the heart to seek the supreme goodness, so that we can find the root. To be the most virtuous and to do the most virtuous, we should focus on our hearts, not on "things and things." The mind understands the truth of the good and demands of itself in everything, so that it is the supreme good when it reaches the only degree of perfection. Mr. Yang Ming taught people to treat things and things, and they must first understand their reasoning, follow their ways, be good at their virtues, and straighten out their hearts, because only when the heart is right can they achieve the ultimate goodness.
But can one seek the highest good just by asking from the heart? Mr. Yang Ming said, "The heart is the reason." There is no such thing as anything outside the heart, no reason outside the heart. How can we get rid of selfish desires in our hearts and serve our parents with such a mentality? In winter, nature thinks that parents will be cold, and will seek warmth for them; in summer, naturally considering that parents will be hot, they will seek coolness for them. If filial piety is measured by material standards, it can be said that it has no foundation, cannot last for a long time, and is easy to wither and decay, and after a long time, it is almost lifeless. Only filial piety that comes from the heart can truly move people, last in the world, last longer, and even pass on to future generations. Therefore, in everything we do, we must pay attention to the cultivation of the heart and cannot do things recklessly. Only when you think clearly and understand it in your heart can you really do things well.
The mind is reason, and the requirement of the highest good is to pay attention to our hearts. The development of new science and technology and new technologies has made our lives change with each passing day, and although the material is becoming more and more abundant, the heart is becoming more and more barren. Nowadays, people pay less and less attention to the heart, and morality seems to be getting farther and farther away from us. Remember the Little Yue Yue incident?
