On September 14, a press release released on the website of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government showed that the Government today announced the implementation arrangements of the "Easy to Hong Kong" scheme. With effect from 15 September (Wednesday), non-Hong Kong residents in Guangdong Province and Macau will be exempted from the mandatory quarantine arrangement upon entry into Hong Kong as long as they meet all the specified conditions of the E-Hong Kong Scheme. At the beginning of the implementation of the plan, the number of non-Hong Kong residents coming to Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will be 1,000 per day.
According to the Communiqué, any non-Hong Kong resident who has not travelled to another region other than Hong Kong, Guangdong Province or Macau on or before the day of entry into Hong Kong (excluding the mandatory quarantine period required by the person in the Mainland or Macau locally in accordance with the requirements at that time), as well as any area listed in the "E-Hong Kong/E-Hong Kong Scheme Temporarily Excluded Risk Areas List", can make an appointment for entry into Hong Kong through the e-Hong Kong scheme's online system. Non-Hong Kong residents who have successfully booked a place can be exempted from compulsory quarantine arrangements upon entry into Hong Kong on the specified date and control point of the reservation and who have a valid negative nucleic acid test result obtained on or within three days of the date of entry upon entry into Hong Kong.
