A folk orchestra carrying the musical dream of "Old Wenqing"
When the symphony orchestra was established, Guandu District already had a grounded amateur literary and artistic team such as Lantern Dian Opera and Square Dance, but the elegant art team was vacant, "A city cannot do without symphony." With this belief, Zhang Ke and a few old friends began to form an orchestra. With the support of the Guandu District Cultural and Tourism Bureau and the Guandu District Cultural Center, in May 2013, the company was probably the only folk symphony orchestra in Kunming at that time.
"The members of the orchestra come from all over the world, most of them are 'literary and artistic youth' in the 1970s who were very early to contact Western instruments, and when they were young, they worked in song and dance troupes such as Honghe, Dongchuan, Dali, etc. Although they have retired, their musical dreams have never been put down." Honorary head wang Dezhi introduced that in addition to the retired staff, musicians and artists of professional colleges, there are also newly graduated college students and academics who have stayed for a short time, "Our rehearsals are not paid, and the musical instruments are brought by the musicians themselves, relying on the dedication to music to go through these 8 years." ”
Although it is an amateur team, the orchestra has professional management and professional requirements, "excellent technology is the basic quality, every rehearsal team member must participate on time, if you are absent many times, it is absolutely impossible to perform on stage." Zhang Ke, who has many years of experience in orchestras, emphasizes the "genes" of an orchestra, in his view, the so-called "genes" are the team members, "rather lead thousands of troops and horses, do not blow and blow, the pitch varies from person to person, how to manage so many excellent people together, which requires the dedication of the team members and the strict requirements of the conductor for music." ”
After 8 years of running-in, the orchestra has gradually formed its own style, the team members can withstand criticism, solidarity and mutual help to form a whole, and the team members uphold the spirit of craftsmanship, can withstand lonely training, in order to present the best works and states on the stage to the audience. It is also after 8 years of polishing that the Guandu Symphony Orchestra has become a folk symphony orchestra with the most complete structure, the most standardized management and the most frequent activities in the province.
Bring the symphony of Happy Guandu to a wider place
In the past 8 years since its establishment, this orchestra has sent symphonic music repertoire into communities, schools, military camps and squares for free, so that ordinary people can "zero distance" access to elegant music at their doorstep. "The performance at Guandu No. 1 Middle School was the most impressive, with 4,000 students sitting all over the stadium, looking at the heads of the people who were moving, and their hearts were a little bottomless." Zhu Xingming, the orchestra's administrative director and bassist, recalls that the scene was still trembling, but when the orchestra conductor danced the baton and a string of heavy notes came out of the instrument, all concerns were dispelled. Qu Biyin wrapped around the beams, and the audience erupted into thunderous applause.
The shock brought by the symphony played on the spot is incomparable to that of records and videos, and more importantly, the "grounded" selection of music also makes the orchestra's performance more empathetic to ordinary citizens. "We abandoned masterpieces like Beethoven and Tchaikovsky in favor of grounded Chinese works and well-known film music abroad." Zhu Xingming introduced that the orchestra also innovated the form of symphony, in the "Ode to the Red Flag", "White Haired Girl", "Red Girl Scout Army", "Ballad of the Great Wall" and other repertoire, the historical knowledge and red culture are integrated in the commentary, and through the interpretation and music, a unique music party lesson is formed, so that the audience not only appreciates the symphony, but also receives party history education.
After the "improvement" of the repertoire as high as the elderly, low to the teeth of the children can feel the beauty of the symphony, since the establishment of the troupe, the orchestra has participated in about forty performances, almost every one can be praised by the audience, after years of experience, the Guandu Symphony Orchestra has also emerged from the beginning, and gradually become a shining business card of cultural Guandu and happy Guandu.
For the future, this folk symphony orchestra is very confident and "ambitious", "Although the average age of this orchestra has reached 65 years old, this is the 'golden age' of a symphony orchestra, fading away from youth and ignorance, and there is thickness and connotation in the melody at this time." Zhang Ke frankly said that in a few years, some members over the age of seventy may retire to "seal the piano", and the orchestra will also face the problem of not picking up the green and yellow, but as long as it can still be pulled and knocked, they will definitely bring the symphonic sound of Guandu to Kunming City, spread to Yunnan Province, and even go abroad, so that the world can also listen to a song "Happy Guandu".
