Liu Xin: That river that waterfall

Recently, reading Liang Heng's "Hukou Waterfall", I was deeply attracted by the majestic momentum of the language of the article, and was once again shocked by the strong and indomitable Mother River, which bravely moved forward, and also reminded me of many people and things when I visited Hukou Waterfall that year. Hukou Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China (the first is the Huangguoshu Waterfall), the largest yellow waterfall in the world. In the summer of 2002, I had the privilege of seeing the "Golden Waterfall" along with the red tour organized by the school. When the bus drove up to the bridge connecting Shanxi to Shaanxi, everyone could not wait to stand up from their seats and lean over to look in the direction of the waterfall, and the deafening sound was faintly heard. After crossing the bridge, I went to the border of Shaanxi Province, got off the car and went straight to Hukou Waterfall. The riverbed is vast, mostly stones, large and small stones are hollowed out by water. Stepping on the soft sand to hide from the pit, I finally saw the true face of the Hukou Waterfall. In fact, the iron chains near the edge of the river trough were very afraid, because the sound of the mountains and the sea was like a magic spell clamping me, and I dared to grasp the chains before I dared to look at the wide and boundless Yellow River.

She seemed to come from the sky, the waves were rough, the thunder was thunderous, and she fell down the river trough at the position of the closing mouth, hitting the waves, and rising mist. In the mist, you can see that the water in the river trough is even more massive, and the yellow and white water does not allow you to look at it in an instant, and then rolls and rushes to the distance. According to the locals, if a cow falls into it, what you see downstream is a cow skeleton. Leaving the trough to the distant beach wall, the water that has not yet fallen into the trough with the mainstream lingers in a roundabout way along the river. Although it is the sun in the middle of summer, putting your hand into the water, it is a cool silk feeling, and the water vapor is full of air. I have never been so close to the Yellow River, and it is the most shocking and patriotic place of the Yellow River, I suddenly thought, I want to take away a bottle of Yellow River water from Hukou Waterfall! Because she is not ordinary water, she is water with souls, she is water with spirits. Indeed, in later life, I especially cherished this bottle of water, often observed the clarity and turbidity of this bottle of water, and even opened the bottle cap to sniff, she always seemed to be able to convey to me the strength to move forward bravely. I also often tell my daughter: As a child of the Yellow River, you must go to see the Yellow River, and you must go to Hukou Waterfall to see the Yellow River! "Who's going to go down to the Dragon Palace together?" With a greeting, colleagues gathered at the entrance of the cave in Halong Palace.

Originally, there was a passage on the cliff wall on the side of the river trough, and the lower hole and the passage could reach a position of about ten meters below the waterfall, and at that position you could look up at the majestic position of the waterfall flying down. It's just that the passage is like a water curtain hole, and when you go down, you have to get wet; the road is also slippery; it is dangerous. The older, the child, the one who was afraid of getting wet gave up. I was afraid that it would not be safe to wear cold shoes, so I went down to the Dragon Palace with a few young people barefoot. One or twenty meters of road water mist, water sandwiched with mud and sand, barefoot walk straight and slippery, I really regret not wearing shoes down. Pulling each other with colleagues to the end of the Dragon Palace, looking up at the waterfall, I couldn't help but shout spectacularly! But only the waterfall rumbles, rumbles... Resounding through the river valley. "Changhong Lying Wave" did not appreciate, to see someone standing on the stone closest to the golden waterfall to take a photo, I actually stood barefoot, the feet did not tremble at all, the water hit the face, but the smile of the photo is the most brilliant and wanton. (Look at the photos now, I'm afraid!) It's too dangerous! However, when he returned, he grabbed a tall and strong teacher to get out of the Dragon Palace safely. Of course, it is indispensable to get wet, there is still water on the face and arms on the hair, and it is captured by colleagues, is it embarrassing? Fifty steps to laugh a hundred steps Oh. In the sun, everyone twisted and shook their wet clothes, but their hearts were excited after experiencing the adventure, and they loudly exchanged their feelings about going to the Dragon Palace, and praised the impatience and untamed nature of The Hukou Waterfall. We are also confident that we are a brave group of people! At dusk, the Hukou Waterfall is still roaring like thunder, and it is galloping forward with full momentum. In the sunset, she has more color and more soft beauty.

At this time, I remembered Ouyang Xiu's "Drunken Pavilion": "The sunset is already on, and the shadows are scattered... However, birds and birds know the joy of the mountains and forests, but do not know the joy of people", there is a sense of immersion. Looking back at several teachers on the beach wall, Teacher Yu said, "They are taking a picture with Professor Ye Peng, so let's go too." I hesitated for a moment or ran over, because my clothes and pants were not dry, especially my white short sleeves, after the baptism of the Yellow River, they had been soaked, and it was really "impossible to wash away by jumping into the Yellow River." I expressed my apologies, and Professor Ye smiled and said, "Yellow River children, beautiful!" Eternal memories are frozen in the photograph. Professor Ye Peng is an elderly person we admire, a well-known critic, educator, writer and scholar in contemporary China, and is a special guest of the school. Many of the teachers were his students, and I had read his books, listened to his lectures, and was a big fan of him.

I still remember about 1990, at the City Library, listening to his lectures. At that time, the Central Plains began to reform and open up, and the content of the lecture was: reform and opening up and traditional Chinese culture. Everyone also knows that the initial reform and development was to cross the river by feeling the stones, but the momentum is strong, and it also has an impact on our traditional culture, which makes people a little confused and worried. Professor Ye Peng's view of these problems is: reform and opening up, foreign things flow in, but those dead cats and dead dogs must flow out sooner or later! The culture of our nation is our roots! That's the power of a mentor! Such words have allowed young people to find the right direction to sail in the wave of reform and opening up! Thirty years later, revisit Professor Ye Peng's words, the truth! Five thousand years of traditional culture is the treasure of our Chinese nation and the root of our endless life! Carrying forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and enhancing national self-confidence is also the main theme of our country in the twenty-first century! Take a journey, read an article, body and soul are always on the way. In her mind, she is still "the Yellow River is broad and generous, soft and rigid; coercing and disobeying, pressing but not bending; uneven is calling, when it is strong, it is resisting; it will live in the dead and bravely move forward." Just like a person, after many tribulations, he has his own personality; when the Yellow River is forced by the mountains on both sides of the river and the stones under the ground, it suddenly goes up and down, left and right, and it also casts its own great character! ”
