Nie Er, formerly known as Nie Shouxin, was later renamed Nie Er.
He was born in 1912 in Kunming, Yunnan.
The Nie family is a family of traditional Chinese medicine, the family runs a medicine shop, although it is not a rich family, but it can also have no worries about food and clothing.
When Nie Er was four years old, his father died of illness, and the business of the medicine shop was dismal, and the Nie family immediately fell into trouble.
Fortunately, his mother passed the doctor's examination and obtained the qualification to treat people, which barely supported the family.
The young Nie Er was lively and studied very hard, and his grades were often among the best.
Nie Mu originally wanted him to learn the knowledge of Chinese medicine and inherit the medicine shop in the family in the future, but Nie Er did not have the slightest interest in Chinese medicine, but was interested in music.
He learned ethnic instruments such as erhu, sanxian and yueqin from his family and neighbors, and he was also fascinated by local folk music such as Dian opera and lanterns.
Although his family was poor, his mother never deprived him of the freedom to learn music, and as long as Nie Er liked it, his mother would fully support him.
As he grew older, Nie Er began to come into contact with a large number of progressive ideas, and he had sympathy for the working people in his heart and began to approach the revolution.
A few years later, at the age of 16, Nie Er secretly joined the Communist Youth League of China.
On the one hand, he continued to study music and improve his musical attainments; on the other hand, he began to study the revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism, joined the "Relief Society" organized by the underground party, and repeatedly received revolutionary comrades who were imprisoned.
During this period, he met and fell in love with Yuan Chunhui of Yunnan Normal University.
Nie Er's enthusiasm for music and his obsession with revolutionary ideals made Yuan Chunhui admire and admire.
Maybe the story continues, and the two will have a good ending, but love always has regrets to appear unforgettable.
After the explosion in Kunming, Nie Er participated in many struggles against the reactionaries, thus attracting the attention of the enemy.
In desperation, Nie Er could only go away.
Although Nie Er lost his family and lover, he did not regret everything he had done, he buried his feelings deep in his heart, and pinned his love on the pursuit of art and the hope for the rise of the motherland.
His pure heart, his Chinese soul, and his song of endeavor have made the world begin to become vibrant step by step.
Sing for the ideal, use music to awaken the public
Nie Er, who had just arrived in Shanghai, was strapped for money and could only engage in miscellaneous work in Yunfeng Shenzhuang.
But he still did not give up his music, did not have an instrument, so he saved money and did not buy a cheap violin until a year later.
After the collapse of Yunfeng Shenzhuang, Nie Er began to seek another livelihood.
One chance, he saw the "Bright Moon Opera Society" recruiting people, Ben went to apply with the attitude of trying it out, but he was recognized by the main examiner Li Jinhui and admitted as a trainee of the band.
During his days in the opera club, Nie Er worked hard to learn the skills of violin and music, and his talent was gradually recognized by everyone.
At an opera club party, Nie Er not only performed the performance, but also imitated the speech of various people.
It was found that as long as it could go through the ear, he could perform it with his mouth.
Not only that, but his two ears can move one after the other, which makes everyone laugh.
Li Jinhui saw that his ears were so strong, he joked that he had four ears, it was better to call him "Nie Er" (the traditional character for "Nie" is "聶").

However, Nie Er was not for his own interests, he had always been concerned about the survival of the Chinese nation.
He was originally a member of the Communist Youth League, and after he arrived in Shanghai, he often praised himself as a "revolutionary new youth", and he felt that he should do "revolutionary music" and "music for the masses of the people", rather than indulging in a world of "singing and dancing".
However, in the face of Li Jinhui, who is also a teacher and a friend, he does not know how to say, on the one hand, it is the "kindness" that conflicts with his ideals, on the other hand, it is the "heart" that hopes to be self-motivated but overwhelmed, and the contradiction and helplessness of the self make him miserable.
At this moment of confusion, Nie Er met the person who influenced his life, Tian Han.
As soon as the two saw each other, Nie Er decided to tell him his concerns.
After listening to it, Tian Han told him that people should follow their ideals, and since they are making "music that belongs to the people", they should use music as a weapon to awaken the masses.
Inspired by Tian Han, Nie Er became more determined that music had the charm of changing society and igniting revolution.
At that time, Tohoku had been occupied by the Japanese, but under the hatred of this country's enemies, all kinds of music such as love were still popular in society.
Nie Er hated this environment of "businesswomen do not know how to hate the country, and sing backyard flowers across the river" to the extreme, so he used the pen name of "Black Angel" to write an article in the newspaper criticizing this trend.
His sharp pen and unique insight into music shocked the Shanghai music scene.
Subsequently, Nie Er decided to quit the Mingyue Society and go to Beiping to seek his ideals.
He hoped that this trip to Beiping could improve artistically and make progress in thinking.
He wished he could get closer to the truth and play the music of saving the world himself.
Perhaps, in the eyes of others, this is just a young man's fantasy of the future.
But it is precisely because China has countless people like Nie Er, full of ideals, that the country has been able to rise and take off.
The building will fall, the abyss will be on the side, and my generation will not give up to turn the tide.
Sing for the motherland, the last roar under the blood
The moment he stepped into Beiping, Nie Er was full of excitement.
At this time, the literary and artistic circles in Beiping have undergone the baptism of "literary revolution", and everywhere is the mellowness and tranquility of art.
This was in line with Nie Er's pursuit, although he was empty at that time, but he was still willing to stay in this city with a strong literary atmosphere.
At this time, Tian Han also sent a letter of introduction to the "Beiping Left-wing Dramatists Alliance", hoping to absorb Nie Er.
In this way, Nie Er can not only have a place to live, but also allow him to improve in literature.
During this time in Beiping, Nie Er not only wrote all progressive articles, but also participated in revolutionary literary and artistic performances many times, and even established the "Beiping Left-wing Musicians Alliance".
Although later, for various reasons, Nie Er stayed in Beiping for only three short months.
However, the tempering of this period of time has allowed Nie Er to usher in a peak of artistic creation.
In the future, the well-known "Mining Song", "Selling Newspaper Song", "Graduation Song" and "Golden Snake Crazy Dance" were all composed after Nie Er left Beiping.
And with these music, each capital has the power to awaken the people of the country.
What was even more gratifying was that Nie Er was more mature in his thinking. After leaving Beiping, zhao mingyi and Tian Han were introduced, and he joined the Communist Party of China.
Artistic and intellectual progress brought him one step closer to the truth he pursued.
In 1935, Tian Han wrote the script "Children of the Storm".
Tian Han was arrested and imprisoned by the Kuomintang after writing the first draft, and the script was handed over to the screenwriter Xia Yan.
At that time, when Nie Er heard that "Children of the Wind and Clouds" had a theme song to compose, he took the initiative to ask Xia Yan to give him the task.
Because time was short, Nie Er's mind only had the pain of repression of the country and the cry of anger at the invaders.
His feelings and the people's feelings of resisting Japan and saving the dead were integrated, and inspiration instantly emerged from his mind, and his creation was completed in one go.
Before the release of the film, Nie Er completed the creation of "March".
General Zhu Qinglan, commander-in-chief of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army, added the word "Volunteer Army" to the "March" and officially determined that the song was called "March of the Volunteer Army".
Although this song has only one octave more than one note, and only one hundred and four notes, each of its notes contains countless powers.
This is the strength that burst out of Nie Er's life, and it is also the determination of forty-five million compatriots, who are sad and unwilling.
Sadly, however, two months after the song came out, Nie Er drowned in Japan.
Although Nie Er's life is too hurried, his name will be accompanied by the "March of the Volunteer Army" and will be passed down from generation to generation.
The ideal does not die, the blood does not die; the past is like smoke, and the singer is eternal.
Songs for life, music is eternal in memory
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the March of the Volunteer Army won the 694 lyrics and 632 song scores and became the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.
This song, which represents the will of countless Chinese people, finally sang the entire land of Shenzhou.
Nie Er, also at this moment, is famous in history.
In fact, he did not choose to compose this song for the sake of leaving a name for eternity.
The world rises and falls, and the pirate is responsible. He just wants to use the pen as a gun and music as a cannon at this time of life and death, and coexist and die with the nation.
And it is this belief that makes this song integrate into everyone's heart, blood, and bring the most powerful power to everyone!

But in fact, for him, he was just an ordinary young man who loved music and loved the country.
In those turbulent times, he just wanted to do his best to make a small contribution to the change of the country.
Unfortunately, he only saw China's despair, but did not see China's awakening; he only heard the cries of sorrow and indignation of the Chinese people, but did not hear the cries of victory of the Chinese people.
The state is still there, but the mountains and rivers are broken; the nation rises, and the old man is gone.
We miss Nie Er, and we also miss the countless heroes who sacrificed for the rise of China.
Whenever the "Volunteer March" sounded, everyone was still surging inside and tearful.
