The source is the root or fruit of the purple fruit kiwi fruit of the kiwi family. Autumn harvest.

The original form of the deciduous winding shrub, about 3 meters high; the outer skin is rough. The leaves are alternate, stalked, densely clustered in the upper half of the short branches, ovate or ovate oval, 5 to 8 cm long and 2.5 to 4 cm wide, short at the apex, rounded at the base, with serrated serrations at the edges, and stellate hairs between the lower veins and axillas. The flowers are heterogeneous, white, axillary polygonal inflorescences, or solitary; sepals are ovoid. The berries are ovoid to rectangular, 2 to 2.5 cm in diameter, with a beak and purple.

Original form purple fruit kiwi vine, 7-20 m long. The twigs are glabrous or have fine soft hairs in their infancy, and the branches are grayish brown in the coming years; the medullary septum is flaky, white to light brown. Single petiole 3–5 cm long, glabrous, sparsely hairy; leaf papery, ovate to rectangular oval, 8–13 cm long, 4.5–8 cm wide, pointed apex, rounded at the base, broadly wedge-shaped, truncated to micro-heart-shaped, usually asymmetrical on both sides, with small upper tapering serrations at the edges, and a small amount on the axillary axillary dorsal. Hairs, 5-7 pairs of lateral veins, curved upwards, bifurcated near the edges and netted with each other.
