Later, the crown prince became emperor, and the teacher Wang Shuwen naturally came to power. Wang Shuwen has always had a dream of innovating and changing the law in his heart, and at this moment when the prince ascended the throne, the conditions were finally ripe.
He promoted his chess friend Liu Yuxi to the position of Inspector Yushi and formed a reform group based on the two connections.
This vigorous change of law soon failed due to the resistance of the aristocratic class, and Liu Yuxi, Liu Zongyuan and others began their wandering journey in Bashan Chushui.

In the second year of the Tang Jingzong Bao calendar, Liu Yuxi was recalled to Luoyang from the post of Assassin of Hezhou, ending a 23-year career of debasement; at the same time, Bai Juyi also returned to Luoyang from the post of Assassin of Suzhou.
The two met in Yangzhou.

Bai Juyi, who was also a degrader of the Middle Tang Dynasty, also understood Liu Yuxi's pain very well, and wrote a poem "Drunken Gift to Liu Twenty-Eight Envoys", expressing sympathy and injustice for Liu Yuxi's suffering.
Liu Yuxi did not lose his manners, and wrote this poem on the table, "Reward Lotte Yangzhou First Meeting on the Table".
Bai Juyi and Liu Yuxi are both ceiling-level figures in the middle and Tang Dynasty poetry circles, and although this encounter is not as good as Li Bai Dufu's Mars hitting the earth, it also rubs out these two heavyweight "sparks".

Two allusions are used in the jaw link, one is the Western Jin Dynasty Xiangxiu's "Thinking of the Old Fu". Ji Kang was killed by Sima Shi, and Xiang Xiu passed by his former residence, and because he heard the flute sound of his neighbor, he wrote "Thinking of the Old Fu", which is the "Wen Di Fu" here.
Xiang Xiu misses Ji Kang, and why doesn't Liu Yuxi miss Wang Shuwen and Liu Zongyuan, who once worked together.
The Rotten Ke people are also allusions to the Western Jin Dynasty, and the king went up the mountain to cut firewood, and stopped to watch when he saw the two boys playing chess. At the end of a game, I found that the axe handle of the wood in my hand was rotten. When I went back to the village, 100 years had passed, and my contemporaries had already passed.
Liu Yuxi used this allusion to express his sad feelings that after 23 years of leaving, the hometown has gone through vicissitudes and personnel are all wrong.
The neck joint is a aphorism, using the common phenomenon in life to express that new things will replace old things, and they still have to work hard to work hard and have the courage to be widely recited by the world.
The tail link echoes the title and is also a response to Bai Juyi's gift of poetry.
