The Chinese Human Rights Development Foundation held the China-Japan Friendship and People-to-People Exchange Forum in Tokyo
On September 23, the Japan Chinese Rights Development Foundation and the Japan-China Friendship Association jointly held a forum on China-Japan friendship and people-to-people exchanges in Tokyo.
With the theme of "China-Japan People-to-People Exchanges in a Century of Changes", experts and scholars from the two countries exchanged views on China-Japan relations in the context of globalization, China-Japan people-to-people cooperation in the post-pandemic era, and the role of youth in promoting people-to-people bonds.
Qin Liang, deputy secretary general of the Chinese Human Rights Development Foundation, who led a delegation on a goodwill visit to Japan, Shi Yong, minister of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Zhang Peilin, minister counselor, Yuji Miyamoto, president of the Japan-China Friendship Association, Huang Xingyuan, representative director of the Chinese side, and nearly 60 Chinese and Japanese experts and scholars attended the forum.
Shi Yong, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, said in his speech that mutual learning between China and Japan has not only promoted their respective development, but also promoted the progress of Asian civilization. We should draw nourishment from history, discover the accumulated value identity, and grasp the pulse of the evolution of modern civilization to continuously carry forward the cause of China-Japan people-to-people exchanges.
Shi Yong stressed: At present, Sino-Japanese relations are at a critical stage of retreat if they do not advance. Guided by the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, the two sides should continue to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, enhance understanding and trust between the two peoples, provide vital forces for the continuation of China-Japan friendship, and lay a solid foundation of public opinion for the development of China-Japan relations.
Qin Liang, on behalf of the Chinese Human Rights Development Foundation, said in his speech that China and Japan should uphold a correct historical understanding, adhere to the road of peers, promote exchanges and mutual learning, improve the foundation of public opinion, and promote mutual understanding.
Yuji Miyamoto, on behalf of the Japan-China Friendship Center, said in his speech that he hoped to take this forum as an opportunity to start a new Japan-China people-to-people dialogue, enhance mutual understanding, and build peace, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Founded on August 15, 1994, the Chinese Human Rights Development Foundation, headquartered in Beijing, is a national public foundation registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China and supervised by the Information Office of the State Council, mainly engaged in international exchanges, education and research, and public welfare activities in the field of human rights. The current chairman of the fourth council is Xie Fuzhan, former president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the secretary-general is Zuo Feng (director of the Human Rights Development and Exchange Center of the Central Propaganda Department).
