Recently, the national standard "Regulations for the Inspection of Safety Performance of New Energy Vehicles" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") was released, which will be officially implemented on March 1, 2025. The standard will become the inspection standard for the annual inspection of new energy vehicles, and the "Regulations" will not only apply to pure electric vehicles, but also to plug-in hybrid (including extended-range) vehicles, which is expected to have an impact on 24.72 million new energy vehicle owners across the country.
The biggest change in the new regulations is that the power battery safety charging inspection and electrical safety inspection have become mandatory inspection items. At the same time, safety features such as drive motors, electronic control systems, and electrical safety will be inspected.
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, as of the end of June 2024, the number of new energy vehicles in mainland China has reached 24.72 million, accounting for 7.18% of the total number of vehicles. In this context, the "tailor-made" physical examination program for new energy vehicles will be conducive to promoting the investigation of vehicle hidden dangers and preventing them before they occur. New changes in the Regulations: Battery charging temperature is a mandatory inspection item According to the current annual inspection standard for automobiles "Motor Vehicle Safety Technical Inspection Items and Methods", the annual inspection of passenger-carrying vehicles including new energy vehicles mainly includes vehicle appearance, safety devices, chassis and brakes. For traditional fuel vehicles, it can be more accurate to judge whether it can be safely driven on the road; However, for new energy vehicles, the three-electric system that affects the core of vehicle safety has not been effectively investigated.
A new inspection item has been added
According to the requirements of the new "Regulations", the power battery safety charging inspection and electrical safety inspection of new energy vehicles will become mandatory inspection items. For the operation of new energy vehicles, the temperature and voltage of the power battery during charging and discharging will become test items.
