The weather is getting hotter and hotter in the summer, and who would have thought that it was our mobile phones that were even hotter than the weather! Many people lie in bed and play with their mobile phones and accidentally fall asleep, and the mobile phone is pressed under the arm, resulting in the mobile phone not being able to dissipate heat in time, and the temperature gradually becomes higher, which causes low temperature burns. In fact, there are not a few examples of being burned by mobile phones, there are "phone porridge", the face is burned, there are addicted to games, and the fingers are burned......
What is a cryogenic burn?
Low-temperature burns refer to chronic burns caused by prolonged contact with low-heat objects higher than 45°C, "some people who feel sluggish or sleep deeply, such as infants, the elderly, paralyzed patients or drunk people, are prone to local burns due to the part of the skin that is close to the hot water bottle."
Under normal circumstances, the low-temperature scalding process is slow and gentle, and the pain of the wound is not obvious, but if the low-temperature heat source continues to act, it will cause burns in the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissues, and when it is found, it is already very serious.
Features of low-temperature burns
Wound pain is not very obvious: Low temperature burns are different from high temperature burns, the pain of the wound is not very obvious, and only redness, swelling, blisters, peeling or whitish appearance on the skin.
The area of the injury is not large: the area is often not large, and the surface does not seem to be serious, but the wound is deep, and in severe cases, it can even cause deep tissue necrosis.
It's easy to overlook the dangers: if a low-temperature burn is not properly managed, it can be complicated by infection, deepening the wound, and the formation of chronic ulcers.
What should I do if I get burned at low temperatures?
1. Cooling treatment
Immediately after a low temperature scald, rinse the scalded part with cold water to reduce the temperature of the wound, relieve pain and minimize the damage of the scald, if the phenomenon of scalding peeling is found, use soaking to cool down, and the cooling time should be 15~20 minutes is the best.
2. Disinfection and sterilization
After cooling, use iodophor or normal saline for disinfection and sterilization to avoid wound infection.
3. Apply an appropriate amount of medicine
Applying an appropriate amount of burn cream can effectively relieve pain and promote the repair of wound cells.
4. Seek medical attention in a timely manner
If you find that the burn is severe, the skin of the burned area is reddish-brown or gray, and the burn area is too large to treat on your own, it is recommended to seek medical attention immediately.
Doctor's Reminder:
When using electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets, you should avoid direct contact with the skin for a long time, once you find a low-temperature burn, you should first use a cold towel wet compress or cold water to rinse and seek medical attention in time, never use soy sauce or toothpaste to smear the burn area to avoid wound infection.
