author:Shenzhou scholar

On March 31, six student representatives from the Croatian Chinese Students and Scholars Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Croatian Chinese Students Association") came to Serbia to carry out visiting activities, and held commemorative activities and friendship activities with the Serbian Chinese Students and Scholars Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Serbian Chinese Students Association") in Belgrade.

In the early morning, the Serbian Federation of Chinese Students and the Croatian Federation of Chinese Students held activities to commemorate the martyrs at the former site of the Chinese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, deeply remembering the three martyrs who died in the NATO bombing.

Gao He Chuying, representative of the Serbian Federation of Chinese Students, recounted the bombing of the embassy in 1999, and introduced the lives of the three martyrs, Shao Yunhuan, Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying, as well as the construction process of the two martyrs' monuments. More than 40 teachers and students from the two countries stood in silence in front of the monument and laid wreaths and bouquets.

Jin Yuhao, president of the Croatian Chinese Student Federation and an undergraduate student at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, said that the martyrs taught us to face difficulties bravely and firmly defend national sovereignty and dignity. In this land that has witnessed history and sacrifice, we must not only cherish the memory of the martyrs, but also deeply remember the importance of peace and justice. Let us join hands to uphold the spirit of peace, fraternity and justice, replace conflict and war with respect, understanding and dialogue, and create a better world together.

Subsequently, the students visited the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade to learn about the cultural elements of each functional area of the center. After the visit, a symposium was held in the reading room with the theme of "Building Bridges of Communication, Gathering Friendship", introducing the historical overview, scenic spots, traditional food, festival customs of the two countries, and the fruitful achievements of the "Belt and Road" construction. The students also conducted a cultural knowledge quiz, and the atmosphere was warm.

Li Fan, President of the Serbian Chinese Student Federation, and Jin Yuhao, President of the Croatian Chinese Student Federation, said that this friendship activity is the starting point of the cooperation between the Serbian and Croatian Chinese Student Federations, and it is also a good opportunity for overseas fraternal student associations to learn from each other and make common progress. At the same overseas, we should enhance exchanges, strengthen communication, work together, go hand in hand, and write a brilliant chapter in life in carrying forward the spirit of studying abroad to serve the country and devoting ourselves to the great cause of rejuvenation of the country.
