Dell, who is leaving China, has finally spoken!

Under the special situation, many companies have left China in one way or another, which is understandable, but as a major PC manufacturer, Dell has always been the pioneer of leaving China.

In March 2023, Dell's full set of scripts and timetables for so-called "de-Chinaization" were exposed: in 2025, Chinese mainland manufacturing will be excluded from the midstream and downstream supply chains, and in 2026, it will begin to leave China in stages in parts procurement, and in 2027, 100% of products sold in the United States will be made in China...

Dell PC once ranked second in the Chinese market, and the Chinese market also contributed a huge amount of revenue to Dell, so the behavior of picking up the bowl to eat and putting down the bowl and scolding the mother was naturally spurned by consumers and the market, and it is not that you can't live without Dell.

According to data from Canalys, a market research agency, Dell's PC shipments in the Chinese market have plummeted continuously, falling by 45% in the first quarter and 52% in the second quarter, with a share of less than 8%.

In the server market, Dell is also discarding armor, with a share of less than 5%, and domestic brands such as Inspur, Xinhua III, and ZTE are more favored.

In the third-quarter earnings report, Dell's revenue fell 12% year-on-year, of which the PC business lost 11%.

Dell, who is leaving China, has finally spoken!

For more than half a year, Dell has been silent about "withdrawing from China", but seeing that the situation is out of control, it seems that it finally can't sit still.

On November 24, Dell held a high-profile celebration of the 25th anniversary of its entry into China at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, reviewing the development process and achievements after entering China.

At the event, Wu Dongmei, senior vice president of Dell, publicly responded in an interview: "We have never published any of the above-mentioned so-called 'information' or 'comments'. Dell's code of conduct around the world is not to comment on 'rumors'. This is our consistent position. But unfortunately, this attitude has been wrongly and one-sidedly interpreted as 'no comment is confirmation', and some people have even fabricated 'relevant news is from Dell officials'. I can tell you unequivocally that these rumors are definitely 'rumors'!"

She also emphasized that China has always been an important international market for Dell, and she looks forward to continuing to grow in China in the future. Dell's commitment to all of you is unwavering, hasn't changed, and won't change.

Wu Dongmei also mentioned that Dell has three production bases in Xiamen, Chengdu and Kunshan, and its products are supplied to the world, of which the Xiamen and Chengdu factories are completely self-operated, and Dell is also the largest manufacturing enterprise in Xiamen in 2023 and the fifth largest manufacturing enterprise in Chengdu in 2023.
