Recently, the Juyongguan Great Wall Museum was completed and will be opened to the public this Saturday (September 23).
The Juyongguan Great Wall Museum is located in the ancient building of the Juyongguan Great Wall Hucao Xing Office, which is the permanent Juyongguan office of the Ming Dynasty. Walking into the Hucao Office, the red and gray tones are antique and the circular transparent building in the middle of the courtyard comes into view, and the handwriting such as "Jingshi's Pillow Juyongxiongguan - Juyongguan Great Wall Museum" highlights the theme of the museum.
The Great Wall Museum has set up a total of 6 exhibition halls, divided into three parts: "Guancheng Vicissitudes and Millennium Drum Horn", "Juyong Life and Breath Continuous Song" and "Xiongguan Mandao, Spiritual Sustainability", showing that in the historical evolution of Chinese civilization, the unique characteristics of "Guancheng", the carrier of the historical homeland "living", and the huge spiritual power reflected by Juyongguan are the main line, highlighting the historical culture, spiritual context and epochal value of the Juyongguan Great Wall.
Pictures, objects, materials, models, scenes, immersive audiovisual experience spaces, digital interactions... In the museum, the rich exhibition language displays the historical evolution, cultural continuation, spiritual inheritance and other contents of Juyongguan, creating a cultural business card that displays the cultural characteristics of the Great Wall of Juyongguan, preserves historical genes, and carries forward the spirit of the Great Wall in the new era.
"The content on display is mainly the inscriptions of that year, as well as the documents about the Great Wall of Juyongguan at that time, and the siege firearms used by the ancient military unearthed." Li Muchan, head of the Cultural Relics Section of the Ming Tombs Management Center, said that the museum began to build Juyongguan during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, until the restoration of the entire Juyongguan Great Wall in the 90s of last century, as well as the historical materials related to the Great Wall except Juyongguan, have been sorted out as a whole, highlighting an important position of Juyongguan in the Great Wall sequence, building a national Great Wall cultural center, and promoting the construction of the Great Wall Cultural Belt.
The reporter found that the museum not only placed cultural relics such as bricks with Mingcheng, iron cables unearthed from Shangguancheng, iron cannons, drum-shaped door piers, etc., but also used interactive display methods to extend the breadth and depth of the exhibition content, and understood the masonry structure and firing methods of the Great Wall through digital multimedia, and fully understood the Great Wall, the world's greatest human project. Through the immersive digital experience, visitors will be led to understand the dangerous terrain of Juyongguan and the special geographical location as the "pillow of the Jingshi Pass", visitors can shuttle through it, step by step, and immerse themselves in the powerful and strict military defense system of the Great Wall of Juyongguan during the Ming Dynasty.
