Huang Qisheng (1879 – April 8, 1946), formerly known as Huang Luxiang, also known as Huang Lulian [1], was a modern educator and patriotic democrat.

Throughout his life, Huang Qisheng explored the truth of education to save the country and rejuvenate the country through education, and Mao Zedong praised him as "the first person outside the Party to sympathize with and love the Party during the most difficult time of the Communist Party." On April 8, 1946, on the way back from Chongqing to Yan'an, he was killed in a plane crash and was one of the famous "April 8" martyrs.

Wang Ruofei, the early leader of the Communist Party of China, lost his father at an early age and was cared for and loved by his uncle Huang Qisheng from an early age. Huang took him from Anshun to Guiyang to be treated for ear diseases, and sent him to Thede Academy to study and receive education, and then followed Huang Qisheng to Japan and France to study.

In France, Wang Ruofei became acquainted with revolutionaries such as Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, and Zhao Shiyan, and joined the Communist Party through the introduction of Ruan Aiguo (Ho Chi Minh). The party organization sent him to the Soviet Union to study. After Japan invaded China, he returned from the Soviet Union, was unfortunately arrested for underground work in Inner Mongolia, and in the face of the enemy's torture to extract confessions and fame and fortune, he did not waver and firmly believed in communism. Propagate anti-Japanese resistance in court and organize mass struggles in prisons. Huang Qisheng went to Suiyuan three times to visit Wang Ruofei despite his old age and infirmity, and tried to rescue him. Due to the anti-Japanese situation and the rescue of many parties organized by the party, the enemy had to release Wang Ruofei from prison.

Wang Ruofei returned to Yan'an and was appointed deputy chief of general staff of the Eighth Route Army. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he went to Chongqing with Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai to negotiate with the Kuomintang.

After the "Comparative Field Mouth Incident" occurred in Chongqing, Huang Qisheng was entrusted by Chairman Mao and the people of all walks of life in Yan'an to go to Chongqing to comfort Guo Moruo, Liu Yazi, and others who were injured by Kuomintang agents. When he and Wang Ruofei flew back to Yan'an from Chongqing, they were unfortunately killed in The Black Tea Mountain in Shanxi.
