#Summer Life Check-in Season#Qingyi Garden, the predecessor of the Summer Palace, was built in the fifteenth year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1750). This is a large-scale natural landscape park with Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake as the main body.

Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake have been an integral part of the scenic spots in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing long before the establishment of the park, and their natural landscapes and some cultural landscapes have a direct relationship with the landscaping since then. The history of the Summer Palace should not be limited to the garden itself, but must be traced back to its early landscape construction.

The Summer Palace is characterized by Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain as the base site, Hangzhou West Lake as the model, absorbing the design techniques of Jiangnan Garden to build a large landscape garden, is also the most complete preserved royal palace imperial garden, known as the "Royal Garden Museum", is also a national key tourist attraction.

On March 4, 1961, the Summer Palace was announced as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units, and together with the Chengde Summer Resort, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden, it was called the four famous gardens in China, and was inscribed on the World Heritage List in November 1998.

On May 8, 2007, the Summer Palace was officially approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national 5A tourist attraction. In 2009, the Summer Palace was selected as the largest surviving royal garden in China by the China World Record Association.
