As you learn English, you find that English also has reading comprehension. This is similar to language, after learning words and sentences, you must start to do reading comprehension.
The reading comprehension of the language is good, after all, we have been exposed to it since childhood, and we know where to find effective methods and reference books.
In contrast, English reading comprehension is more challenging. We couldn't know a few words, and we couldn't understand them in sentences, let alone choose teaching materials. The books include junior high school and upper three levels, 8 books in each level, and there are a total of 360 stories, just one per day. After learning a full set of books, children can know 4600+ vocabulary, master the use of 400+ words and sentences, and master 18 reading comprehension skills.
Do one every day, stick to it for a year, and the child unconsciously learns so much knowledge. The whole practice process also responded to the old saying: the day arches and dies, and the merit is not donated.
01. Practice repeatedly to help children master a variety of reading comprehension skills
Because this set of books focuses on improving children's English reading comprehension, the first book in each set has the reading comprehension skills used in the following daily practice.
There are 15 types of questions introduced in the elementary school, all of which are aimed at the question types that are often seen in the exam, such as:
How to determine the main idea,
How to do sorting questions?
How to identify the development, process and result of things according to some key words in the article.
On top of this, 2 reading comprehension skills were added to the intermediate and advanced levels.
The reading comprehension skills introduced in the first book of each level, each article will use some of the skills, and there will be annotations when used.
For example, the seventh article of the elementary is "Color", which probably tells the two colors of red and blue to argue about who looks best.
Among the multiple-choice questions of its after-class exercises, there is a question that examines the "use of details to support the application".
In order to prevent children and parents from forgetting which reading comprehension technique to use, hints supporting details are also marked in English at the bottom of the question.
There are only 3 reading comprehension questions in each article, but each question is a targeted technique exercise. Practice repeatedly every day, do a set of books, and master more than a dozen reading comprehension skills.
02. One book for multiple purposes, which can not only practice reading comprehension, but also do after-class reading materials
At first, I liked this set of books because I thought it could help children improve their reading comprehension skills.
In the exercise, I found that it can not only be used to deepen reading comprehension, but also as after-school reading materials, increase children's vocabulary, and even expand knowledge.
Unlike other English tutorial books, the content of the entire set of books is 1:1 fiction and non-fiction.
Reasonable content ratio, children can increase this knowledge every time they read a piece of content, rather than just picking their favorite stories.
Moreover, the content of the book is very rich, covering popular science knowledge, self-knowledge, scientific knowledge, geography and landforms, security, fairy tales, fables and traditional Chinese stories.
For example, the ninth story for elementary is "Creatures". The content starts with the most common flowers and trees, telling children that these are creatures; Next, the definition of organisms and the commonality of organisms are explained; Finally, I connected with myself and concluded that we are also creatures, but we are also different.
The 11th story is the classic story "The Wolf is Coming" that we are familiar with. Familiar folk tales are written in English, and children will definitely feel both new and excited to read them.
The second story of the advanced level begins to popularize science knowledge again. Tell us about the history of the eye, and some other interesting facts about the eye.
Since the main goal is to master reading comprehension skills, children read each passage carefully. Coupled with the variety of content formats, their interest in reading English books was also quietly cultivated.
03. The difficulty gradually increases, and the child's vocabulary, sentences and reading skills will also improve day by day
A story per day, each story's vocabulary, sentence length, grammar application, etc. are also upgraded.
The first story of the beginner is only 61 words, the recommended reading time is 80~110 seconds, and by the time of the last story, the number of words has reached 75. The vocabulary of each intermediate article is about 165, and the number of many is no more than 170.
By the time it reached the advanced level, it had risen from less than 200 words in the first book to about 360 words.
From the first to the last of the elementary one, the number of words has only increased by about 15. However, from the first article of the beginner to the last article of the advanced level, the number of words has increased by about 290. A little increase every day, the child will not feel the amount of increase every day, and there will be no resistance, but when we summarize, we will find that the amount accumulated is also very amazing every day.
Not only is the vocabulary increasing, but the use of words and sentences is gradually increasing in length.
In order to allow children to read and remember the important sentences in each short text, this set of books has a "word and sentence application" section in the after-class exercise part, specifically writing out the sentences that need to be mastered in each lesson, and example sentences to help children understand and use.
The first book of elementary books has only about 6 words in one sentence.
By the time you reach the intermediate level, each sentence has almost 10 or so words.
The difficulty increases little by little, and the knowledge becomes more and more unconsciously.
This set of "Super English Reading Ability, Read Every Day", the difficulty of the exercises is also increasing book by book.
It starts as a simple line question, and ends up filling in the blanks with the correct word or word form.
