Recently, Academician Danwei Wang, Academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the IEEE and Distinguished Professor of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, joined the Asia-Pacific Society for Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter referred to as AAIA).

Career

Danwei Wang received his master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1984 and 1989, respectively. He is currently a professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is also the Director of ST Engineering-Nanyang Technological University Corporate Lab. He was Director of NTU's Control and Instrumentation Division from 2005 to 2011 and Director of NTU's Center for System Intelligence and Efficiency until 2016.

Major contribution

Academician Danwei Wang has served as General Manager, Technical Chair and various positions at international conferences such as the International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (CARCV) and IROS Conference. He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics and served as an associate editor on the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial Board from 1989 to 1998. He is also a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship in Germany. His research interests include robotics, control theory, and applications.
