#U20世界杯: Italy beat England 2-1 #
The ongoing U20 World Cup in Argentina has entered a crucial knockout stage. On the morning of June 1, Beijing time, the 1/8 final of the World Youth Championship knockout round played four more games, including the much-watched battle of two eagles, the host Kampas Eagles Argentina lost 0-2 to the African Eagles Nigeria, and was defeated.
Argentina, who finished first in Group A, played Nigeria, third place in Group D, at the San Juan Stadium, but the result was unexpected, with hosts Argentina upset a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria. In the first half of the match, neither side was able to change the score and went 0-0 into the halftime lounge.
In the 60th minute, Nigeria was led by Mohammed to break the deadlock and push Argentina into a corner. In the following matches, Argentina could not find a way to knock out the opponent's city, but was instead defeated by African Eagle Nigeria's Sargi in the 91st minute with a header from a counter-attack, sealing the victory and sending the host Argentina out.
Nigeria also advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Junior Championships, and also avenged Argentina's defeat to Argentina in the final of the 2005 World Junior Championships in the Netherlands.
In another high-profile match, Italy beat England 2-1 to advance to the quarter-finals. Italy's Baldanci broke the deadlock in the first half, before Devine equalised for England. After that, both sides had a hard time breaking through the opponent's gates. Just when everyone thought that the game was about to enter extra time, England was sentenced to death for fouling in the box, and Cassadai helped Italy beat England and advance to the quarter-finals.
The Italian team continues to play the bitter role of England, eliminating England in international competitions many times. Properly walked as the nemesis of the English team.
In the other two knockout matches, favourites Brazil beat Tunisia 4-1 and Colombia beat Slovakia 5-1. So far, six places have been produced in the quarterfinals of the World Youth Championship: the United States, Israel, Brazil, Colombia, Italy and Nigeria.
The final two quarter-finals will be chosen between South Korea and Ecuador and The Gambia and Uruguay.
