In Paudoni's view, the carrier of reading is not important, what is important is what children gain from reading, what kind of experience they have, and how reading changes their lives.

Zhu Yu believes that the "listening to books" in the era of artificial intelligence should pay attention to two problems, one is that the people who speak should be good, in the past, "everyone" talked about the sound and color, listening to the sound can emerge the picture, and now some "listening to the book" sound, is generated by artificial intelligence, read the tone of speech is the same, and even read the wrong words, which is not only unhelpful, but even harmful; The second is to listen to the books well, choose the stories well, and not give any book to the child. "In the era of artificial intelligence, parents must learn to make trade-offs, and we need to spend effort in this regard." Zhu Yu said.

Another problem in children's reading in the era of artificial intelligence is that smart phones, short videos, games and other sound and pictures are impactful and interactive, which is easy to "grab" children from reading.

Zhu Yu believes that children are curious about all things in the world and have the attributes of natural readers, and for children, especially preschoolers, it is easy to become addicted when they are exposed to smart phones and games without sufficient self-control, thus losing their love of reading, and it will be very difficult for them to re-cultivate their interest in reading.

"It is the parents who play a decisive role. If parents cannot control themselves and are unwilling to make some necessary sacrifices for the sake of their children, the children will be negatively affected. Zhu Yu said.

How parents can stimulate and protect their children's interest in reading

How to stimulate children's interest in reading and cultivate their good reading habits is a topic of common concern for parents at present.

Paudoni believes that to cultivate children's interest in reading, we must first start from the child's own interests. "Some children like insects, they can start by reading books about insects, and some children like airplanes and ships, and they can read mechanical books. Understanding the child's interest in reading and providing him with a wide sky can make him go further on the road of reading. Paudoni said.

"It is necessary to take children to bookstores regularly, let children choose books by themselves, learn to read independently, and let children have the right and opportunity to choose themselves." Zhu Yu said.

Start with vivid, free reading, not utilitarian reading. Paudoni does not agree with the practice of assigning a hard book list to children: "Set a reading plan for children, which becomes reading tasks and pressure, so that children will not fall in love with reading, reading must be easy and engaged." ”

Both Bao Dongni and Zhu Yu believe that one of the most important ways for parents to accompany their children to read is to read a book together and communicate. "In fact, many children also have a chat topic through reading, they like the same book, and they use the book as a topic of chat." Paudoni said.

Does the age and era gap between parents and children read together? Paudoni believes that people of different ages and eras can have conversations, and it is a particularly good way to talk on the basis of reading. "Through reading, parents can maintain a connection with their children, know what is in each other's minds, and it is a kind of family bond."

"To carry out reading in a family environment, first, to ensure the time for parent-child reading; The second is to arrange an independent reading space for the child, even if there is a small bookshelf on the balcony, such a sense of ritual is very important. Zhu Yu said.

How schools can better create a reading atmosphere for children

In March this year, the Ministry of Education and other eight departments jointly issued the "National Reading Action Implementation Plan for Young Students", which proposed that through three to five years of efforts, "the level of construction of 'scholarly campuses' will be significantly improved".

How to build a "scholarly campus" to better create a reading atmosphere for children in the campus?

Zhu Yu believes that first of all, there must be a hardware environment, and a good library or library is very important. The school can also use many corners of the campus and arrange it as a book corner, in short, there must be a certain investment in hardware.

From the perspective of classroom teaching, Zhu Yu believes that teachers of different disciplines need to study through the teaching and research activities of the daily teaching and research group. "One teacher may not be enough to design teaching, in this case, we need to use the strength of the team to do teaching and research together to create this reading atmosphere, which is true for all subjects." Zhu Yu said.

In addition, in years of teaching, Zhu Yu has accumulated many methods to stimulate students' interest in reading. He said that schools can carry out some thematic reading activities, such as designing a set of reading courses, and can also make reading passbooks and carry out reading star evaluations.

As a children's writer, Paudoni enjoys promoting students' interest in reading through the extension of reading.

Bao Dongni wrote a picture book "There is a Play", which tells the story of watching Peking Opera. After she took the students to read this book, she took the students to draw the masks of Peking Opera faces, and the students learned about different characters by depicting different flower faces, so as to deeply perceive the art form of Peking Opera.

"The purpose of reading is not to read itself, but to open a door so that children can contact another world and understand the vastness of the world and the meaning of life." Paudoni said.
