First, go into exile on the island, waiting for the opportunity
The victory in the Battle of Shuishui gave Sima Yao, the emperor of Jin Xiaowu, the opportunity to regain power, but Sima Daozi, whom he entrusted with important duties, was a political straw bale, and they drank all day long, and the people who spoiled them were all courtiers and villains, and the dynasty was in chaos. At this time, in order to increase the number of troops, the son of the ruling Sima Daozi ordered to recruit the "slaves" of those gatekeepers in the Sanwu region for his own use, which caused the anger and dissatisfaction of the local gatekeepers.
When he heard that Sun En, the leader of the Wudoumi Taoist Sect, had returned from the sea with his followers, there were rebellions in the three Wu and eight counties, and "they all rose up in one fell swoop, killing the long history in response, and in the middle of the month, hundreds of thousands of people." So Sun Enyang was proud, thinking that the time and place were favorable and occupied, he thought that he would soon be able to directly take the capital of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Jiankang, and become a new generation of emperors.
