In 1959, the state-owned Nanjing Xinlian Machinery Factory (military code "924 factory") built by the Soviet Union is a large-scale military enterprise directly under the state, with more than 7,000 employees, mainly producing radar, and producing "Bole" brand refrigerators and air conditioners after the military conversion to civilian use, where China's first household air conditioner and the first double-door refrigerator were born, and many old Nanjing people's first refrigerator and air conditioner are Bó Lè brand.
It has been rated as one of the top ten well-known electronic brands in China for three consecutive years and exported to Southeast Asia.
Xinlian Machinery Factory, backed by Shogunate Mountain, is located at No. 439 Heyan Road, Qixia District.
Around 1985, when the factory was at its most brilliant, the factory specially introduced the Ariston refrigerator production line from abroad, and Bó Lè refrigerators began to flood into residential households. Bó Lè refrigerators occupy 20% of the Chinese refrigerator market.
The Design Section building was built with Soviet aid
It is understood that in the 80s, due to the large demand, Bole refrigerator alone to supply the Nanjing market is not enough, many sellers simply parked the transport truck in front of the factory, the refrigerator off the line one to move, the factory door every day "busy", very lively. When the employees of nearby enterprises received 90 yuan a month, their monthly salary had reached more than 200 yuan. As long as it is said to be "Bole Factory", it is easy to even find a target. The first refrigerator or air conditioner of many old Nanjing people is "Bó Lè", which is an old brand that was once famous.
In the early 1990s, Nanjing Bole Electric (Group) Company was established with the state-owned Xinlian Machinery Factory as the core. Unfortunately, in the later enterprise reform, the company stopped production in 1999, declared bankruptcy in 2004, and was acquired by Suning Group.
Today's former state-owned Nanjing Xinlian Machinery Factory is still there, but the buildings are dilapidated, the rooms are empty, the situation is bleak, and the former glory has become history.
According to the plan, in addition to the original design building, one new historical building will be added, which is the Shuiji Roadside Auditorium; 3 new recommended historical buildings, including small hardware workshop, large hardware workshop, and 20 workshop, are newly recommended for internal transformation and reuse without destroying the structure of the building body and the style of the façade, combined with the requirements of future functional replacement.
Auditorium
On the southeast side of the factory, one of the striking Soviet-style auditoriums built in the 1980s was the factory's largest public activity space, providing cultural and recreational activities for the plant's residents.
The auditorium carries the memories of the employees of Xinlian Machinery Factory.
